00:00Senate President Francis Chief Escudero supports the decision of the Department of Agriculture, or DA,

00:06to declare a food security emergency for rice.

00:09According to Escudero, if the objective of this is to lower the price of the primary commodities needed by Filipinos,

00:16then he will surely endorse it.

00:18Moreover, he asserted that lowering the price of rice in the market will help to decelerate inflation in the country.

00:26So, it's right that the administration is aiming at this.

00:30Imagine if our inflation is less than 1%,

00:33the result of lowering the price of rice and other primary commodities.

00:36That's a big thing when it comes to the government's approach, especially if we are in debt.
