Senator Dr. Amery Browne is denying a report which suggests that he will be replacing Dr. Keith Rowley as the candidate for Diego Martin West, heading into the next general election. He rubbished the claims published today in the Guardian newspaper, and took to his Facebook page with evidence to the contrary. Rynessa Cutting has more.

00:00PNM Senator Dr. Amy Brown is labeling the contents of a Guardian article titled,
00:05Amy Brown tipped to replace Dr. Rowley and Diggle Martin West as either
00:10speculation or deliberate mischief. This after the article published by the
00:15Guardian Media Investigations desk sought to make a link between a response
00:20which he provided to an unnamed reporter to rumors that the senator was set to
00:25re-enter electoral politics and screen for the Diggle Martin West seat with Dr.
00:31Rowley's blessings. However on his Facebook page today Dr. Brown posted a
00:36screenshot of the conversation which he had with the Guardian journalist which
00:41shows that the reporter reached out to Dr. Brown inquiring whether he would be
00:46seeking nomination as a representative for any seat to which Dr. Brown replied
00:52I will update you on this in the not too distant future at a time that I deem
00:57appropriate be fully assured that I remain keen on contributing to the
01:01future of our country and the party end quote. But in the Guardian article
01:06published today his response was positioned after a statement that said
01:11quote if successful in the general election Dr. Brown will replace Dr.
01:16Rowley as MP for Diggle Martin West. Via Facebook post today Dr. Brown confirms
01:22that he has not been approached by the constituency of Diggle Martin West with
01:27respect to nomination as an electoral candidate and says quote I have had no
01:34such conversations or intentions or blessings end quote. Dr. Brown previously
01:40served as MP for Diggle Martin Central for two terms ending in 2015. He's
01:45currently the Karagam and Foreign Affairs Minister. Renassa Ketting, TV 6 News
