Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is showing no intention of firing the Attorney General or the Homeland Security Minster from the Cabinet, as she has responded to former Prime Minister Dr Rowley's call for her to end the State of Emergency.

00:00Contacted by TV6 News for a response to former Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley's call for her to fire the
00:06Attorney General and the Homeland Security Minister,
00:09Prime Minister Kamala Pesad-Besessa said that under Minister Alexander and A.G. Jeremy,
00:14there has been 400 less murders in the last 15 months than were projected to occur based on what had
00:21occurred under the PNM.
00:23The Prime Minister further said, quote, serious crimes are also down 15% this year.
00:28PNM strongholds have seen the largest decreases in murders and serious crimes over the last 15 months, end quote.
00:36Dr. Rowley, in his statement, said the population has been made aware of what he called the recklessness of this
00:41administration,
00:42as he called for the state of emergency to end now.
00:45Prime Minister Pesad-Besessa responded by saying, quote,
00:48if he wants to end the SOE and fire Minister Alexander and A.G. Jeremy, he can go ahead and
00:53do it.
00:54I don't know how he will do it because someone should explain to him that he is no longer Prime
00:59Minister
01:00and has become what he always complained about, a Facebook troll, end quote.
01:04Prime Minister Pesad-Besessa told TV6 News over 5,000 citizens were murdered, 8,000 were raped or sexually assaulted,
01:11and over 120,000 serious crimes occurred over his term in government.
01:16The Prime Minister further said, quote,
01:35In his statement, Dr. Rowley asked of the Prime Minister, quote,
01:39When she called me an Oreo in the service of the 1%, what did she think that was her birthright,
01:46end quote.
01:47Prime Minister Pesad-Besessa said in her statement, quote,
01:50Rowley failed to protect this country and most egregiously failed to protect the PNM's own strongholds from violent crime,
01:58but is now angry that a stinking coolie, as his supporters call me, is doing the job he never cared
02:05to do, end quote.
02:06The Prime Minister said law-abiding citizens are fully supporting the government in their fight against crime,
02:11and added law-abiding citizens have nothing to fear.
