00:00The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered preacher Firdaus Wong to remove a video allegedly promoting
00:06secret underage conversions until the disposal of a suit brought by eight non-Muslim parents.
00:11Just as Amarjeet Singh said, Firdaus' posting was in breach of Article 12 sub 4 of the federal
00:16constitution which states that the religion of a minor shall be decided by their parent
00:21or guardian.
00:22Amarjeet also ordered Firdaus to pay the plaintiffs 5,000 ringgit in costs and fixed March 29th
00:28to hear the originating summons.
00:30In June, Firdaus posted a video of him allegedly giving a man instructions on how to handle
00:35requests from minors wishing to secretly convert to Islam.
00:38Numerous police reports were lodged against Firdaus after the video made its rounds on
00:42social media, leading police to probe the preacher under Section 505C of the penal code
00:47for making statements allegedly conducive to public mischief.
00:51In his defense, Firdaus denied making the statements.
