00:00Looking at Everton and the January window, obviously, you know, we've mentioned a number
00:06of times the lack of finances they've had to work with, you know, with the takeover
00:11coming in and the sort of rebuild possibly happening within the next year or so, how
00:16important is this January window? Obviously, Everton, sorry, don't want to fall into that
00:21trap of a relegation fight again. They want to be continuing to fight in it. So how important
00:27is January for them?
00:29Yeah, it'll be interesting. I think the takeover, you would like to hope, is going to be completed
00:35by then. But will Everton be massively affected in terms of what they can do in the markets?
00:41I'm not too sure because of profits and sustainability rules. But I'm sure the Freakens would like
00:47to give Everton some money to go out and spend and bring in a couple of players. If not,
00:54Sean Dyche might have to be careful in what he does. It might be a little bit like the
01:02summer where he has to get deals in that work for the club in terms of finances. Personally,
01:09I'd like to see Everton go out and get a left back. Vitaly Mikhalenko is the only out and
01:15out option at the minute, and he hasn't quite hit the same heights as he did last season.
01:21He was solid last season, but he struggled a little bit. Maybe that's against the backdrop
01:27of the ankle injury. He suffers in the Merseyside derby, and he raced back to get fifth of the
01:32Euros. He had problems again in the summer. Maybe he just hasn't quite got over that injury.
01:38I think competition is always a good thing in squads as well. A little bit of pace out
01:44wide is what Everton are lacking. Jesper Lindström has done okay so far. He's still acclimatised
01:50and we can add that little bit of pace, but they need more from the wingers, I think.
01:56Ileman Ndiaye deserves a go in the number 10 role, maybe. Jack Harrison hasn't quite
02:02done it so far this season, so some additional pace definitely. Then it might depend on what
02:10happens with maybe, will there be any more outgoings? I don't know. Obviously, the one
02:15that you're looking at is Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He's into the final year of his contract.
02:21Years ago, whatever they make would be pure profit on the books, which would be good for
02:26PSR rules, but are Everton willing to take that risk? Is it worth selling Dominic Calvert-Lewin
02:32for, I don't know, £10 million maybe? Maybe a bit less, only to have one fewer option
02:40up front. Then you're struggling. We all know the finances that it means to stay in
02:47a Premier League, especially with the moves to the new stadium coming. I think Sean Dyche
02:52and director of football, Kevin Fellow, will be looking at what they can do, but it might
02:57be difficult again.
