Everton transfer latest as David Moyes firm on fact Toffees need new faces

Everton’s transfer window has been a mixed bag, with fans divided over the club’s approach.  While a few key signings have addressed glaring weaknesses, questions remain about whether the squad has enough quality to secure Premier League survival.

00:08a bit of an interesting one, changing manager halfway through the month almost. What's your

00:14take on the current transfer situation? Are fans expecting any business in or out? We've

00:20mentioned a few times positions that might have been filled, but that performance against

00:25Spurs at home was absolutely fantastic, so it's sort of cut those worries out maybe for

00:30fans for now, for the time being. But obviously a big run in left, they are still just hovering

00:36above the relegation zone. They need to make sure that they continue this little run and

00:41don't sort of fall back towards the bottom three.

00:44Yeah, definitely. And David Moyes says after the Tottenham game for his goals to win, whilst

00:49he wasn't getting carried away, he still knows that Everton need players through the door

00:54because Stilton scored 18 league goals in 21 games, and that's the second fewest behind,

01:01and I mean just in front of Southampton, who are obviously in deep, deep trouble. A lot

01:08of supporters still want to see intact improvements. Armando Broish is now out for three months,

01:15Yousef Chimithy's absence as well, so that leaves two strikers. Dominic Calvert-Lewin

01:20scored a great goal against Tottenham, but it was his first in September. As well as

01:25Jesper Lindström did against Tottenham, he still hasn't been absolutely consistent since

01:32he arrived in the midfield. Is there enough goals in there? Is there enough threat from

01:38the full-backs?

01:39So it's an interesting one because we speak to less than two weeks now, and David Moyes

01:45has said that Everton need players, elite players from the elite stadium that they're

01:50moving to, but they also need recruits coming in who are going to make an instant impact.

01:57Moyes' command said they like Ernest Neumar at Lyon, but he's off the profile of a development

02:04side and he couldn't come in and go, right, you're our new right winger, we're expecting

02:09five goals and five assists from you in the second half of the season. It wouldn't be

02:12fair on the lads to start with, and you can't get a guarantee. It's a difficult market Everton

02:19are working in. They have got some legal room with the PSR, but what sort of players do

02:25they sign? Do they want development ones? Do they want younger players who will give

02:30their all? I think if Everton sign, there's going to be one fault to them, whether it's

02:37a younger player, whether it's an older player. So it's not straightforward, and I think David

02:43Moyes and the recruitment team have got to weigh everything up when it comes to who they're

02:47bringing in and decide what would be best. But yeah, the attacking players' need is maybe

02:53midfield there and the full-back area, the left-back area is somewhere they could look at.
