00:00Time for a look at tonight's weather forecast with Juzeth Deonanon.
00:05Thank you, Disha. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. If you've been caught out in the rain
00:09today, you are definitely not alone. It's been a very soggy Tuesday, thanks to the
00:14intertropical convergence zone that's passing over us and bringing with it a whole lot of rainfall.
00:20Looking at a recap of today, the rain came down in buckets and we saw flash flooding across several
00:26areas, but South Trinidad in particular really felt it. If you're dealing with rising waters,
00:31please stay indoors as much as possible and be cautious if you actually have to head out.
00:36We had a yellow flood alert in effect until 4pm today and even though that's passed,
00:42the risk of flooding hasn't completely gone away yet. Now if you're thinking,
00:46wait wait, I wish I did stay in my bed, you're onto something. Today's temps were actually
00:51pretty comfortable, 27 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 29 in Tobago, so we were spared the
00:57usual midday heat. Looking ahead to tonight, things should calm down a bit. Expect mostly
01:02fair conditions with a few scattered showers after midnight, so if you're heading out tonight,
01:07you might want to carry an umbrella just in case. It won't be too intense, but we've learned by now
01:12not to take any chances. Now tomorrow's weather is going to be a bit of a mixed bag. Early morning
01:18will likely be sunny, so if you're an early riser, you'll get to enjoy some sunshine before the
01:23clouds roll in. You might even get a chance to trade in your umbrella for some sunscreen,
01:28but don't pack up the umbrella away just yet. By midday, we'll see a few more clouds and scattered
01:33showers popping up, so it's not going to be all smooth sailing from here. There's also going to
01:38be a 30% chance we could get some heavy afternoon showers or even a thunderstorm. On top of that,
01:43there's some Sahara dust making its way over, so you might notice a bit of a hazy look to the
01:49skies tomorrow. It's not enough to cancel your outdoor plans, but if you do have respiratory
01:54issues or allergies, it might be a good idea to take it easy and avoid any strenuous activities
02:00outdoors. As far as temperatures go, we're looking at highs of 33 degrees Celsius in Trinidad
02:05and 32 over in Tobago, but with the humidity factored in. It's going to feel a bit more like
02:1038 degrees Celsius across both islands, so stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade when you
02:16can. You know the drill. For those of you early tomorrow, sunrise is going to be at 6 a.m. in
02:23Trinidad and 5.58 in Tobago. For those of you who love a good sunset, you'll catch it at 5.39 in
02:29Trinidad and 5.37 in Tobago, so plenty of daylight hours. Just be ready for the occasional downpour.
02:36If you're planning to take a little dip or head out to the beach tomorrow, the seas will be
02:41moderate. Waves will range from 1.5 to 2 meters in open water, so if you're heading out, just be a
02:47little bit cautious. In sheltered areas, the seas will be a bit calmer, around one meter. If you're
02:53a boater or a water sports enthusiast, just keep an eye on those conditions. Now here's a look at
02:58our tide times. Okay, so the bottom line today has been tough for some of us with those floods,
03:16and tomorrow doesn't promise to be any less predictable. The rain will ease up a bit tonight,
03:21but be prepared for more showers tomorrow, especially in the afternoon. That's your
03:26weather update for tonight. Take care, stay dry, and keep that umbrella handy.
03:30We've got this, folks. Thank you so much.
