00:00Here's Rochelle with tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thanks, Disha. Good evening, TNT. It was another hot, sunny day across Trinidad and Tobago,
00:09but some areas did get a few brief welcoming showers. But let's see what we're getting a
00:15little later. The Met Office says tonight will be generally fair, with a risk of the
00:20odd isolated shower, with temperatures dropping to 24 degrees in Trinidad and a bit warmer in
00:26Tobago at 26. And tomorrow will be another scorching day, dishing out exactly what we got
00:33today. And that's mostly hot and sunny weather with one or two brisk isolated showers, with
00:39daytime temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees in Trinidad and 32 over in Tobago. Now, looking
00:46at conditions expected for the weekend, I would recommend doing some outdoor activities
00:51with your sunscreen, of course, running those errands and watering those plants on those
00:57days because the Met Office says Friday and Saturday will be hot and sunny, but still be
01:02mindful that isolated showers can occur. So move accordingly. Now, here's when the sun
01:08will clock in and clock out for the day in Trinidad. Sunrises at 555 and 551 in Tobago
01:14and sunset at 548 in Trinidad and 544 in Tobago. And if you're not clocking in to work tomorrow
01:20and heading to the beach, seas will be slight with waves near 1.2 meters in open waters and
01:27below 0.5 meters in sheltered areas. It's now time for your Thai Times.
01:39Turning to the Eastern Pacific, Tropical Storm Trudy has strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane
01:46and is now moving toward Mexico. The system is packing maximum sustained winds of 90 miles per
01:53hour with further strengthening possible, potentially making it a major hurricane by Friday. Heavy rainfall
02:00could trigger life-threatening flooding and mudslides across parts of Mexico, while dangerous surf
02:07and rip currents are also expected along the coast. And it is Thursday. So before I go, here's a quick
02:15true or false. The eye of a hurricane is usually calmer than the eye wall. Is that true or is
02:22that false?
02:23And well, the answer is true. The eye is the center of a hurricane and it is often surprisingly calm
02:31with lighter winds and sometimes even clear skies. But don't let that fool you. Surrounding the eye
02:38is the eye wall where the strongest winds and most intense thunderstorms are usually found.
02:44This is where some of the hurricane's most dangerous conditions occur. And well, now you know.
02:50And well, that's all for weather tonight. I'll now hand you over to Vash with sports.
02:55Well, thank you, Rochelle. To come in sport, Club Sandoz bring a surprise on Mount Pleasant to draw
03:01in the Caribbean Cup semis. Quite a day for TNT cyclists and UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai,
03:10China. And wins for Italian clubs in UEFA Europa League. Sport is up next.
