00:00Hi there. A lot of cloud around as we start the new week. Certainly a contrast for many
00:06of us compared with Sunday's weather. This is the satellite and radar from the start
00:10of Sunday. Extensive sunshine for England, Wales, East and Scotland. But through Sunday
00:14outbreaks of rain and cloud pushed south-eastwards and that meant that by Monday morning we've
00:21got these spells of increasingly light and patchy rain spreading south-eastwards across
00:28the country and cloud cover for most of us. That cloud will be low across western areas
00:33so some hill fog and mist and some persistent drizzle over western hills whilst these other
00:39bands of rain increasingly weaken as they push south-eastwards. But just about anyone
00:44could see a few spots of rain during the rest of Monday and with the cloud cover as well
00:49and this Atlantic airflow is going to be mild, 15 to in some places 17 or even 18 Celsius.
00:57Then because we keep the cloud overnight it is going to be a mild night. There will
01:01be a few breaks in the cloud, somewhat random where these occur across southern parts of
01:07the UK. More reliably, eastern Scotland, north-east England seeing some breaks as the cloud tends
01:14to thin out over the hills. But for most, because of the absence of cloud breaks, temperatures
01:19will stay in the double figures. I will keep some spots of rain going, especially for western
01:24Scotland, Northern Ireland, western parts of England and Wales, one or two spots elsewhere.
01:29But actually Tuesday promises somewhat brighter skies for many compared with Monday, certainly
01:36for England and Wales, eastern Scotland, north-east England. A few light showers continuing but
01:41otherwise it's a benign set-up really as we go through Tuesday. Similar temperatures in
01:47the afternoon as well. Some more persistent rain into the far north-west of Scotland,
01:51mind you, by the end of the afternoon and into the evening. But you can see how those
01:55cloud breaks are becoming a little more extensive across England and Wales as well as eastern
02:00Scotland as we end Tuesday evening. And because of that, well actually there will be some fog
02:05forming. We've got light winds, high pressure building during Tuesday and into Wednesday.
02:11That high pressure is here to stay for some time, diverting weather fronts well to the north.
02:16However, high pressure doesn't always mean sunny skies and certainly we'll start off
02:20Wednesday with fog in places and further cloud cover, especially through Northern Ireland,
02:26parts of central and southern Scotland, northern England, to the far south and the far north,
02:30perhaps some sunshine at times. A little cooler on Wednesday as well, 13-15 Celsius. It's more
02:36or the same through Thursday and into Friday for many of us. A lot of clouds,
02:40some mist and fog in the mornings but also plenty of dry weather. Bye-bye.
