00:00 Hello there. This weekend has certainly been one of mixed fortunes across the UK. Western
00:05 Scotland in particular has been very wet with persistent heavy rainfall throughout all of
00:10 Saturday and Sunday has led to some locations seeing around 150mm of rain building up in
00:17 36 hours. That's in contrast to some eastern areas of Scotland where it has stayed relatively
00:22 dry thanks to the shelter of the mountains. And across the rest of the UK as well, some
00:26 dry conditions, even some sunny spells through central eastern areas of England on Sunday.
00:31 We'll hold on to some of those clearer spells into the evening and overnight period as well.
00:35 Southern central areas should stay largely dry but the rain will be moving its way into
00:39 Northern Ireland, Southern Scotland, North West England and Western areas of Wales. Far
00:44 North West of Scotland though where we have seen that repeated and persistent rainfall
00:47 will be turning drier with some clearer spells into the overnight period. And where you do
00:52 have those slightly clearer intervals, temperatures could just drop down into single figures,
00:56 7, 8 degrees Celsius. But underneath the most persistent cloud through the central slice
01:00 here it is going to be a mild night. Temperatures holding up in double digit figures between
01:05 10 and 12 degrees Celsius. We'll still have those outbreaks of rain to contend with then
01:10 as we start off the new working week, particularly for Western areas. The rain will be slightly
01:14 lighter and patchier forward towards the east, perhaps even some early brightness for southeastern
01:19 areas of England, though the cloud will be thickening here later on in the day. Still
01:23 quite a blustery windy day for England and Wales, but the winds will be easing out for
01:27 Northern Ireland, central areas of Scotland as the sun begins to poke its way through
01:30 the cloud into the afternoon. Though for the North West of Scotland we've got another band
01:34 of rain arriving later on. We'll see those northwesterly winds in the North West though
01:38 starting to feed in some slightly fresher conditions. So temperatures down here compared
01:43 to the weekend not seeing much higher than 9 degrees Celsius. But elsewhere underneath
01:48 the cloud and the rain, a relatively mild day. Temperatures a touch above average for
01:52 the time of year between 11 and 13 degrees Celsius. As we head into Tuesday, our attention
01:59 turns to the next set of fronts that are going to start pushing their way in from the south
02:02 west. Looking like Wales and England will bear the brunt of this and see most of the
02:07 rainfall. That rain will start arriving as we head throughout Monday evening and overnight,
02:12 along with quite extensive areas of low cloud pushing its way in could produce some fog
02:16 even to lower levels. So quite a murky, dreary and damp night to come here. For Scotland,
02:22 Northern Ireland, there will be a few showers, but some clearer spells developing and underneath
02:26 those clear skies, it will be a noticeably cooler and chillier night compared to some
02:30 recent ones down to three or five degrees Celsius. But again, further towards the south
02:35 and east where you're underneath the cloud and the rain, a relatively milder one, loads
02:39 of around 11 degrees Celsius. Quite a wet start to Tuesday across a good portion of
02:45 England and Wales. Tricky travelling conditions. First thing on the rush hour to do take care.
02:50 There will be some spray on roads. Most certainly the rain will slowly clear its way off as
02:55 we head throughout the day and behind that you'll see the sunnier, brighter skies developing
02:58 in from the north west. Scattering of showers, though they could be falling as snow and sleet
03:03 over the higher ground of Scotland and will be accompanied by some relatively blustery
03:08 winds, maybe some localised coastal gales across the north of Scotland as well. And
03:12 with that northwesterly feed of winds, we'll start to see those fresher conditions arriving
03:17 across more areas of the UK. So a lot of us starting to see that notice change in the
03:22 air. So return to some slightly cooler conditions, seven, eight, nine degrees Celsius as the
03:27 highs for a lot of us in the far south east still just about reaching double digit figures,
03:32 maybe 12, 13 degrees Celsius. It looks like that northwesterly feed of air is going to
03:39 continue as we head for the second half of the week. Those ice bars tightening at times
03:43 once again, so some gales and stronger winds around at times further frontal systems trying
03:47 to push their way into the north west, perhaps the south east staying the driest overall,
03:52 but we'll keep you up to date on all of the comings of the next week across the YouTube
03:57 channel. So make sure you subscribe and we'll see you again here soon. Bye bye.
