The West Indies went from speaking about challenging for the ODI top ranking to hoping to at least leave with a consolation win in the final ODI tomorrow in Pallekele.

The Caribbean men have pulled off a Jekyll and Hyde performance losing all the matches since winning the first T20.

And captain Shai Hope addressed what has gone wrong for the Men in Maroon on the sub-continent.
Transcript
00:00It's fair to say the West Indies' inefficiency in playing against Spin has been exposed on
00:04their tour of Sri Lanka.
00:06The Caribbean men started well in more suitable conditions in the first T20, chasing down
00:12180 for victory.
00:14But since then, they have looked ordinary, losing the next four matches.
00:18And Spin has been the major issue as the Sri Lankan spinners have taken 11 of the 14 West
00:23Indian wickets to fall in both ODIs, a glaring weakness that captain Shea Hope said they
00:29need to resolve.
00:30Shea Hope says the issue is a mental one, but admits
00:58it cannot be solved overnight.
01:21And going into the final ODI tomorrow, Hope wants his top order to set the tone.
01:26We asked the openers and the top order batters to set the platform for the guys in the middle,
01:31and it's clear to see we didn't do that in this series.
01:35We had to depend a lot on the lower order, which they played really well in my opinion.
01:40But if we get those good starts, or if we get that good start in this last game here,
01:43I think it will be a whole change to the context of the game.
