00:00Maloney Pacers coach Christopher Jackson finding the best way to hold the trophy
00:04which they captured by beating Caledonia Clippers in the Anomaly final. He says he
00:09knew Caledonia's experience would be a challenge but he had a counter for that.
00:30Pacers dropped points in the second period. Jackson blames it on complacency.
00:59I think the players got a little complacent in terms of seeing that we were up by about
01:0511 or 12 points I think. And that is something that young players usually do when they feel
01:10like they can really beat us. And that complacency stepped in and they were still playing the
01:15game very hard. In fact, Caledonia Clippers, they really played a good game as it relates
01:21to their age and whatever, but they played smart. So yeah, they came back and our guys
01:26are nowhere near. We are in our game. Just don't take them for granted. I think one
01:31of the reasons that when we played the first time, we saw how relatively easy we would
01:36have won the game. So I think that was the complacency as the game started progressing
01:40and we saw we were up by double digits. However, Caledonia had a plan as well as they saw to
01:45keep Tyrese Fields out of the match. One of our chief scores, Tyrese Fields, who is also
01:50the youngest person in the tournament, if I'm not mistaken, he was being man-marked.
01:55And that was a good thing for Caledonia. So he was out of the game for a considerable
02:00amount of time. So Tariq Singh and Dominic Glatz and all the others, they also stepped
02:04up. Jelani Varley and Jason Friday. So they stepped up because Tyrese was our main three-point
02:10threat and he was man-marked after the second quarter, he was man-marked.
02:16In the end, he may have won the title, but he seemed disappointed that they did not
02:20walk over Caledonia.
02:22Not necessarily. And the reason for that is, again, kudos to Caledonia Clippers for keeping
02:26it so close. I don't think fourth-year-old guys are supposed to give our team that much
02:31trouble. And I am saying this in the essence of being holistic for Toronto League of Basketball.
02:37For Miguel Williams, Lighter Lewis and Couto and those guys to be still making the finals,
02:44it kind of tells us that us as coaches now have to do something better because those
02:49guys are making finals.
02:50Having captured four titles for the year and leading her team to 41 unbeaten matches, Jackson
02:56believes he should be considered for the national team head coach job for the upcoming FIBA 3x3
03:02tournament in Puerto Rico. It's set to run from the 13th to the 15th of December.
03:07The national team is looking for a coach. Are you interested?
03:12I am always interested to see Trinidad and Tobago, and I have done it, again, even in
03:19success. Over the last 25 years, Trinidad and Tobago have won five medals in international
03:25competition. I have been involved in four of those medals, and the other person is a
03:30Puerto Rican. And that's the reality.
03:34So, if anybody really wants this sport to grow, I would humbly say that I am the person
03:41to coach.
03:42You may recall that Jackson led TND to its first ever bronze medal at the Men's 3x3
03:46basketball tournament at the Pan American Games in October 2023.
