As Maloney Pacers Basketball coach Christopher Jackson believes tactics and pre-planning made the difference against Caledonia Clippers in the Anomaly final.

The Pacers defeated the Clippers 78 to 67 in the final of the invitational tournament and Jackson praised his team for proving they have a strong bench.

00:04which they captured by beating Caledonia Clippers in the Anomaly final. He says he
00:09knew Caledonia's experience would be a challenge but he had a counter for that.
00:30Pacers dropped points in the second period. Jackson blames it on complacency.
00:59I think the players got a little complacent in terms of seeing that we were up by about
01:0511 or 12 points I think. And that is something that young players usually do when they feel
01:10like they can really beat us. And that complacency stepped in and they were still playing the
01:15game very hard. In fact, Caledonia Clippers, they really played a good game as it relates
01:21to their age and whatever, but they played smart. So yeah, they came back and our guys
01:26are nowhere near. We are in our game. Just don't take them for granted. I think one
01:31of the reasons that when we played the first time, we saw how relatively easy we would
01:36have won the game. So I think that was the complacency as the game started progressing
01:40and we saw we were up by double digits. However, Caledonia had a plan as well as they saw to
01:45keep Tyrese Fields out of the match. One of our chief scores, Tyrese Fields, who is also
01:50the youngest person in the tournament, if I'm not mistaken, he was being man-marked.
01:55And that was a good thing for Caledonia. So he was out of the game for a considerable
02:00amount of time. So Tariq Singh and Dominic Glatz and all the others, they also stepped
02:04up. Jelani Varley and Jason Friday. So they stepped up because Tyrese was our main three-point
02:10threat and he was man-marked after the second quarter, he was man-marked.
02:16In the end, he may have won the title, but he seemed disappointed that they did not
02:20walk over Caledonia.
02:22Not necessarily. And the reason for that is, again, kudos to Caledonia Clippers for keeping
02:26it so close. I don't think fourth-year-old guys are supposed to give our team that much
02:31trouble. And I am saying this in the essence of being holistic for Toronto League of Basketball.
02:37For Miguel Williams, Lighter Lewis and Couto and those guys to be still making the finals,
02:44it kind of tells us that us as coaches now have to do something better because those
02:49guys are making finals.
02:50Having captured four titles for the year and leading her team to 41 unbeaten matches, Jackson
02:56believes he should be considered for the national team head coach job for the upcoming FIBA 3x3
03:02tournament in Puerto Rico. It's set to run from the 13th to the 15th of December.
03:07The national team is looking for a coach. Are you interested?
03:12I am always interested to see Trinidad and Tobago, and I have done it, again, even in
03:19success. Over the last 25 years, Trinidad and Tobago have won five medals in international
03:25competition. I have been involved in four of those medals, and the other person is a
03:30Puerto Rican. And that's the reality.
03:34So, if anybody really wants this sport to grow, I would humbly say that I am the person
03:41to coach.
03:42You may recall that Jackson led TND to its first ever bronze medal at the Men's 3x3
03:46basketball tournament at the Pan American Games in October 2023.
