Some lucky children got to spend time with the President, on Wednesday.

The standard three pupils got to read a story and chat one-on-one with President Christine Kangaloo.

00:07These standard three pupils took center stage at President's House on Wednesday as they
00:12read the book Kai's Magical Adventures, Where the Garbage Goes.
00:17She saw huge trucks driving around.
00:20She saw mountains of garbage, and she saw a man directing a tractor.
00:26These pupils, 67 of them in all from San Juan SDA Primary, Specialist Learning Center
00:32St. Augustine, and Robert Village Hindu School, took part in the latest installment of Storytime.
00:39Reading exposes you to different worlds.
00:43It can teach you to master the English language, you learn new words.
00:48The Office of the President says the aim is to promote literacy, and President Kangaloo
00:54shared that while she was a bit of a tomboy growing up, a lot of times she could be found
00:59with a book in hand.
01:01As President, I'm trying to encourage young children like yourselves to do is to just
01:07foster that love of learning, and that love of reading books, and exposing yourselves
01:13to different things and different ideas.
01:16Just keep putting all your garbage in the bin for me to collect.
