00:10It's not police schools we have in the first place, it's not. Schools are institutions of learning and I would
00:15think that it's supposed to be a very safe, comfortable environment.
00:17You don't want children to be going in that school and they are fearful of that environment where they're going
00:22into.
00:23So don't get me wrong, the Ministry of Education is trying something, they're collaborating with the Ministry of National Security.
00:29My point, and tutor's point as a matter of fact, let me be very clear on that.
00:33Tutor's point is that there was no communication, no consultation at any point in time where tutor with respect to
00:37this.
00:38You simply made a unilateral decision.
00:49How is it helping? And let me give earlier a point that I'm sure you're not aware of.
00:55The empirical data that is normally shared in Parliament in terms of how many children are suspended, how many children
01:01are arrested and so on,
01:02it is not shared with the district heads, with the school supervisors who are charged with the responsibility of running
01:08the district.
01:09So the SS3 is ultimately in charge of every district has an SS3 in charge, a school supervisor 3.
01:14And I am telling you to date that these supervisors are not privy to that information.
01:19So what is it about? Is it about just getting data and coming and presenting it in the Parliament?
01:24Or is it about genuinely making a change? Because if you're making a change, one would think that you would
01:28put it and give it to the persons who are charged with the responsibility to make that change.
01:38We are seeing persons whose contracts are ending and they're not being renewed.
01:42We are social workers, we have guidance, counsellors, all of these persons, contracts ending and not being renewed.
01:48I understand you want to treat with indiscipline in school and we have no problem with that.
01:52Tutor is on board and we are ready to support you.
01:55However, you cannot take out the foundation mechanisms necessary to get the desired results.
02:01And still you want to obtain that said desired results.
02:18You are seeing ministers coming out and supporting their various workers and so on.
02:23Trying to ensure that they have the best, so that they can provide the best quality of work.
02:28We are asking as tutors, where is our Minister? Where is our Minister of Education?
02:32Is he missing in action? Is he non-existent?
02:35Because he has not made any public comments on this particular matter.
02:39Unfortunately, he has resultedje to share a video of the person who would do something with India.
02:44You
