The very first TTGA Ladies Open Golf Tournament is set to tee off this weekend.

The action will all happen at the Saint Andrew's Golf course where all the top local female golfers will converge.

And it's not just for highly skilled players but will also cater to the others with a 9 hole event.

00:00Some were working on their long game with the driver while others were
00:05working on their short game with the putter. But the excitement and
00:08anticipation was clear as some of the women who will compete in the inaugural
00:12TNT Golf Association's Ladies Open Golf Tournament were hard at practice.
00:18It feels really good. I'm happy that they actually made moves to have this
00:24Ladies Tournament. It's a move in the right direction and I am looking forward
00:28to playing in the tournament this weekend. One of the hot favorites this
00:31weekend is Victoria Sinath who is coming off successes at the St. Andrews Open
00:36and the AIB Ladies Invitational. Yeah I'm very happy. Some of the ladies
00:43participating would have been women that would have probably come after my
00:50period as a junior. So it's definitely you know step in the right direction and
00:56for the development of the game and the future ahead. So I'm very happy to see
01:00that and to see these younger ones coming out and competing. And while the
01:05successful pair of Ingrid Sibaran and Violet Roopchand are happy for the
01:09tournament neither plans letting competition come between their
01:12friendship. You all are veterans in the business, national athletes. Are you the ones to
01:17beat this weekend? Supposedly. We will try our best. You all have been playing together or you're playing
01:24against each other this weekend? We are playing against each other. So will the friendship
01:28gonna end? Never, never.
