00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.

00:03Derbyshire's Chief Constable, Rachel Swan, is set to retire next month,

00:07but will rejoin the force after just one month away.

00:11The move is in line with national guidelines following the changes

00:14to the Compulsory Retirement Age for Police Officers, which was introduced in 2022.

00:19The Retire and Rejoin scheme is open to all police officers in England and Wales,

00:23regardless of rank, and is designed to retain skills,

00:26knowledge and experience within the police service.

00:29The scheme allows for any officer, including a Chief Constable,

00:32to formally resign before being reappointed back to the same rank.

00:37The process requires a break in service of at least one calendar month

00:40and is designed to encourage officers to stay longer in post.

00:44Mrs Swan, who was appointed as Chief Constable in 2020,

00:48is Derbyshire's first female Chief Constable.

00:52An award-winning florist is giving people a sneak peek

00:55into her new shop in North Derbyshire ahead of its opening.

00:59Kirstie Noble will officially open Bloom Floral

01:01at Cavendish Walk in Bolsover on October 5th.

01:05Meanwhile, she is preparing for the British Florist Association's

01:08awards final in Nottingham on September 28th.

01:11Kirstie is one of six finalists in the UK Florist of the Year Newcomer category.

01:16Kirstie, who is 25, won a silver medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2023,

01:22with a design that she co-created with Elizabeth Ascom

01:25when they worked together at Flash Ideas in Chesterfield.

01:28She has also won several medals from the WorldSkills UK,

01:31which celebrates young people's success in their chosen professions.
