00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:03The cause of a major fire which damaged a thousand square meters of fields in Derbyshire remains a
00:08mystery. Fire crews were called to the incident at fields at Hillstown near Bolsover on Sunday
00:13afternoon. Dozens of firefighters from across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire tackled the blaze
00:18as witnesses reported that a large plume of smoke would be seen for miles around.
00:23A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said,
00:25Fast actions from our neighbouring crews, including Nottinghamshire Fire Service and
00:30local farmers, meant that the fire was under control and contained quickly to prevent further
00:35fire spread. A joint police and fire investigation was carried out to determine the cause of the
00:40blaze and the fire service has now issued an update which has concluded that the cause of
00:44the fire is undeterminable. A vacant hair and beauty salon is poised for a makeover in which
00:52the premises would be restyled as a cafe or micropub. Andy Slater, who runs Soup and Socialise,
00:58has applied to Bolsover District Council for the change of use on Main Street, Shybrook.
01:02He proposes to open the in-between cafe micropub every day of the week, including bank holidays,
01:07from 9am to 11pm. Mr Slater states that cosmetic changes to the interior decor and furniture would
01:14be the only work done to the building.
