Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.

Council planning chiefs are due to consider proposals for a large housing development
00:07
near a north Derbyshire village, despite dozens of objections from residents concerned about
00:12
traffic congestion, flooding and an increased strain on local services.
00:15
Chesterfield Borough Council's Planning Committee is due to meet on Monday to consider the application
00:21
for 270 farms at Duckmonton, along with a commercial zone and an area designated for
00:26
community use. A council spokesperson said "The development of such a large greenfield
00:31
site for housing will bring a change to the local area, which is an understandable concern
00:36
for local residents. However, planning decisions must be based on the development plan unless
00:41
material considerations indicate otherwise. The site is allocated for 275 homes, which
00:47
this application seeks permission for." Residents have raised concerns about overdevelopment of the
00:53
site, the loss of greenfield land, the potential harm to wildlife as well as flooding problems
00:58
and traffic and safety and congestion concerns. Some also fear the development will bring an
01:04
added strain to schools and existing services including GP surgeries and dental practices.
01:09
A Derbyshire boss has issued a warning after hackers shut down a vital social media account
01:16
for his business. Carlo Laurenti, who owns and runs Derbyshire Wedding and Events,
01:21
clicked a link after receiving a notification on Facebook saying his page had been impersonating
01:25
another. Within seconds his computer screen was filled with various images, including
01:30
indecent images of children, and Carlo lost access to the business account on Facebook.
01:34
Detective Sergeant Steve Judge, who leads the Cybercrime and Digital Investigations Unit,
01:40
which dealt with Carlo's case, said "Sadly we are seeing criminal hackers using indecent images
01:45
to cover their tracks after gaining access to business pages on social media. Once they have
01:50
gained access to an account through the victim clicking a link, they will look to take any
01:54
personal or financial details from the page, even buying advertising, before posting explicit images
02:00
to get the page shut down by Facebook. In Derbyshire we have worked with Facebook to
02:04
help victims of hacking to regain access to their accounts." Carlo added "All it takes is that moment
02:10
of distraction, being caught under pressure." He added "If in doubt, just don't click."
02:15
"On hindsight, I would have never, never imagined anything like this would happen to me. I mean,
02:20
I use online banking, I use all the IT services like everybody else does, you know, I've been
02:26
around computers for quite some time, I thought I was a lot more intelligent, a lot more savvy,
02:31
you know, all it takes is that just moment of distraction, you know, while being caught under
02:37
stress or under pressure, just clicking a mouse in the wrong place, and it can just happen and
02:41
I flick on my finger like that."
02:48
"I had one woman, out of the, I have no idea which was, out of the blue called me and she told me,
02:55
look, she told me I don't mind seeing your posts on Facebook and all that, but can you stop calling
03:00
me on unsociable hours and sending me messages and things like that, and I was shocked, I said like,
03:05
no, you're definitely a drunk person, and she told me this is coming from Derbyshire wedding events,
03:09
I know that's weird, I said can you send me a copy of whatever you've been seeing,
03:14
obviously it took me like about 10 minutes staring at this thing to finally realise that
03:19
wedding was spent with a triple D. Okay, I went back on my social media apologising,
03:25
pointed to everyone, this wasn't me but was somebody presenting himself as being me.
03:30
Come forward, what, just before Christmas I believe it was, where I got this message again
03:42
saying like, you're imposing to be somebody else, you've got 24 hours to make your case,
03:47
or as a Facebook page, your social media is going to be taken down, and it looked very legit,
03:52
logos and everything, so I stupidly clicked on this message, okay, because again instantly I
03:59
went like, oh god, I don't want to go back to all that hassle I had years ago, I thought it was over
04:03
and done with, and that's where my mind went, and that's why I got caught out, because usually I'm
04:08
a lot more savvy than that to be honest. I was having very very graphic images coming on,
04:14
worst of all even child porn coming on, you know, pictures, and I had absolutely, honestly I was
04:20
lost, I was like desperately trying to unplug things, but obviously the damage was already
04:25
done. I was suffering through anxiety like I had never never suffered before.
04:40
My team in India were really really good, I have to say, you know, respect to them, and then a
04:48
couple of days later I got a call from one of the detectives, you know, they started investigating
04:54
in all the links coming to, uh, sent to me through Facebook and all that. Now in the meantime,
04:59
thankfully everything got recovered, and yeah, the rest is history. Even now just don't click,
05:07
you know, even now just don't click. When I get clicks myself or links myself,
05:12
okay, on Facebook, the first thing I do is before accepting it, I open a different browser and try
05:19
and look at that profile. If you see that that profile has no followers, has no friends, has,
05:26
you know, one or two friends, or has some questionable content on their on their wall, or
05:32
doubtful images on their wall, just don't accept it, just absolutely just just refuse it, just
05:39
refuse it, you know, don't think you're too clever, don't think anything won't get past you,
05:45
you know, because it could happen to anyone, literally, no matter what business you're in,
05:50
no matter who you are, you know, and I always say my concerns go into the more vulnerable,
05:55
like the elderly or things like that, you know, where they might click out of fear or they feel
06:00
intimidated, they might have to click. Never say you'll never get caught out, because it's probably
06:05
a matter of when, not if, to be honest with you. So yes, high tech is a very good thing in life,
06:11
and you know, if there's anything I can do to help people avoid going through the problems I went
06:18
through, I'm happy to do it, you know, just again, my concern is enough, in doubt, don't click,
06:24
don't accept, end of story.
