Speed restrictions have been introduced on the automated Docklands Light Railway (DLR), after engineers discovered the trains were going too fast on some sections of track.

00:16there wasn't enough of a safety margin between the speed of the trains and the maximum recommended

00:22speed. It was discovered during a review of the signalling system. Most sections have

00:28been slowed by 5mph, TfL have confirmed, adding that the trains never went over the

00:34recommended track speed. TfL's general manager for the DLR, Tom Page, said,

00:40Following a review of our signalling system, we identified a pre-existing technical issue

00:45which meant there were a number of places where there is not enough margin between maximum
