00:00After losing to TKR the previous night, the Barbados Royals were able to bounce back and
00:05beat defending champs Guyana Amazon Warriors by 32 runs in Bridgetown.
00:09Royals captain Rahman Powell was pleased with his team's effort, which saw them collecting
00:13two points.
00:14I think the game was done before the last over, the 19th overs before that, we did a
00:21fantastic job.
00:22I think to restrict such a powerful team to 170 with the outfield as wet as it is is fantastic
00:30Having made 156 for 7 against TKR, Powell knew the Royals had to bat better this time
00:35around in order to get over the line.
00:37I think it's just a case of us saying that 150, 160 won't win the game.
00:42So somebody within our top 5 have to bat and bat deep and go as long as possible and you
00:47know fortunate for us tonight when we played one of the better T2000s.
00:52The results saw the Amazon Warriors dropping to second with the Royals on top.
00:56Guyana skipper Shea Hope felt his side should have performed better with both bat and ball.
01:00First I think that we gave them a little bit too much at the end, probably 20-30 runs too
01:05much but yeah I still thought that we had the firepower in our batting department to
01:10get the runs.
01:11But yeah it's just one of those days you don't always get over the line but I'm sure the
01:15guys are going to be in good spirits going forward.
01:17The Royals next host St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Tuesday, while the Amazon Warriors next
01:22face TKR on Wednesday at the Queens Park Oval.
