00:00If you're running a business and aren't at the top of Google when you search for your
00:03service in your local area, more often than not, this is because you don't have the right
00:07content on your website. In this video, I'm going to show you how we build content strategies for
00:11our clients to drive traffic, leads, and customers to their businesses. I'm going to walk you through
00:17exactly how we create service pages, blog posts, and social media content for our clients,
00:22so that you can do the same for yourself if you're a local service business owner,
00:26or for your clients if you're an agency or freelancer. If you're new here, hi, I'm Kirk
00:30from OneBase Media. For over a decade, we've been helping local businesses get more leads,
00:35more customers, and ultimately, make more money. Our videos reveal tips for local businesses to
00:41boost their online presence, and also help agencies and freelancers streamline their
00:45operations and get some amazing results for their clients. If you find our content useful,
00:49remember to like it, and don't forget to subscribe so that you never miss a video.
00:53The first strategy we use to find content ideas for our website pages is by doing competitor
00:59analysis. This is a really powerful way to build your content strategy, and is achieved by looking
01:04at what's already working for others in your industry. First, Google your service and location.
01:09For instance, let's say we're a loft conversion company based in London, so we'll Google
01:13Loft Conversions London. Then we'll scroll down to find a top-ranking website and click on it.
01:18Copy the link of this site and put it into a tool called Search Atlas. Once you've done that,
01:23go to the Pages section. Now you can see all the organic pages that are ranking at the top for your
01:27competitor's website. Essentially, this is revealing their entire content strategy. As you can see,
01:32their homepage is getting a lot of traffic, but you'll also see other pages like Loft Conversion
01:37Costs, which might be driving around 778 visitors a month. You can also see they've made specific
01:43pages dedicated for each of their services, like Dormer Loft Conversions. They also have pages for
01:48specific areas like Loft Conversion Costs in London, or Loft Conversion Costs Birmingham.
01:54These pages are tailored to what people are searching for in those areas, and they're
01:58clearly generating traffic. So what you're going to do is pull all this data and export it into
02:02a spreadsheet. Once you've got it all laid out, you can start replicating these pages for your
02:07own site. You're essentially mirroring their strategy, but with your own unique content.
02:11This method is all about understanding what's already working in your niche, and using that
02:16as a foundation to build your own content strategy. You're not reinventing the wheel here.
02:20You're just making sure your content covers all the bases that are already proven to attract
02:24traffic. Now, the second strategy is to do content planning using keyword clusters. In Search Atlas,
02:30click on Content. In the Content Planner, you'll type in your primary keyword, which is loft
02:35conversions. And below that, you'll add the URL of your competitor's website that's ranking on
02:40the first page. After that, select which country you want the traffic to come from, and then click
02:45Create Keyword Clusters. Once done, click on View Topics. As you can see, this tool has generated
02:51a bunch of keyword clusters for you. It's found 335 topic ideas related to loft conversions. And
02:57best of all, these are all UK specific. So now we have keyword ideas such as attic conversions,
03:03loft and extensions, loft company, and loft conversions Ireland. And beside each keyword,
03:09we can also see their monthly search volume. So this gives you a sense of how much traffic each
03:14keyword cluster could bring in, so you can build your own content around keyword topics that have
03:18high monthly search volume. What's really useful is that the tool also shows you the keyword
03:23difficulty. For example, some of these keywords are marked as easy, meaning they're less competitive
03:28and much easier to rank for. Once you've identified the keywords you want to target, the next step is
03:33to actually create the article. Now we can use this tool to help us create a blog or an article
03:38on any of these keywords. All you have to do is click on Create Article, then select the keywords
03:42you want to target from here and select Create New Article. Now click on Write with AI. The final
03:48step is putting all the headings for the articles we want to create. So put in the title and the
03:53H1 and H2 header tags. After that, click on Generate AI Content. And as you can see, Search
03:58Atlas has now created an article for us that we can use on our website. But a word of caution,
04:02don't just copy and paste the AI generated content as is onto your website. You should definitely go
04:07through the content yourself and make edits. The key here is to use the tool as a baseline.
04:12It gives you a strong starting point, but you'll want to build on it to create the best piece of
04:16content possible. This way, you're not just pumping out generic content. You're crafting
04:20articles and blogs that provide real value and stand a good chance of ranking well on Google.
04:25Once you're satisfied with the content, you can link it to your WordPress site and publish it.
04:29This tool will also score the content out of 100. It will also offer suggestions for improvement,
04:34like different keywords to include or questions to address. The end goal isn't just to create any
04:39old content, but to build articles that go into more detail, offer more value, and ultimately
04:44outrank the competition. Now, the third strategy is to use Google to find content ideas for our
04:49website. So head over to Google and type in your primary keyword, like loft conversions,
04:54and scroll down a bit and go to People Also Ask section. Now, this section is incredibly valuable
04:59because it provides a list of commonly asked questions related to your keyword. For example,
05:03you can see questions like, how much does it cost to convert a loft? Or what is the 10-year rule for
05:08a loft conversion? Now, these are actual questions that people are asking, which means there's a
05:12demand for content that answers them. So let's take a closer look at one of these questions.
05:16Do you need planning permission for a loft conversion? When you click on this, you will
05:19be taken to this website, which has a whole article answering this question. Now, the goal
05:23here is to create a much more comprehensive blog on your site that answers this question in greater
05:28detail. Now, when we run this blog through Search Atlas, we can see that this blog alone is pulling
05:32in nearly 2,500 monthly visitors. So this is a great topic to build your blog on. Each of these
05:38questions represents a potential topic that could be turned into a detailed blog post, or even a
05:43series of posts. There's just a ton of potential content ideas here that can help you dominate the
05:47search engine. So that's how you use the People Also Ask section to build a content strategy.
05:52You find the questions people are already asking, then create detailed, high-quality content that
05:57answers these questions better than anyone else out there. Next, we're going to use Google Suggests
06:02to find content ideas. All you need to do is type in your primary keyword, such as loft conversions,
06:08and then just pause for a moment, and Google will automatically start suggesting related search terms.
06:13This is Google Suggests in action. Basically, Google telling you what people are searching
06:17for related to your keyword. These suggestions are based on actual search data, meaning these
06:22are the phrases that people are actively typing into Google. And then when you click on one of
06:26these suggestions, you'll see an AI-generated snippet from Google itself about that topic.
06:32And when you click on View More, Google is showing blogs from authorities in the industry.
06:36So you want your blogs to be shown up here as well. Basically, Google Suggests can help identify
06:40the gaps in the market. If you notice that a particular suggestion doesn't have a lot of
06:44competition, this could be a great opportunity to create content that fills that gap. So let's say
06:49there's a suggestion for loft conversion kits, and you don't see much in-depth content about it.
06:54You could develop a comprehensive guide about loft conversion kits, compare different options,
06:58and provide pros and cons. The next strategy is to use TikTok to come up with content ideas for
07:03your social media. So go over to TikTok, and in the search bar, type in your primary keyword,
07:08which is loft conversions. Now you can see all the videos that are related to loft conversions.
07:13You can see this video of a bedroom loft conversion has 1.2 million views. That's 1.2
07:18million sets of eyes that could be on your work. If you're doing a job like this, or even something
07:23similar, you want to start documenting your work. This is the kind of content you should be creating
07:27every time you convert a loft. This is what people are engaging with, simple, progress-focused
07:32content. You just need to look at the top-performing content and replicate what's working.
07:37Scale it up by creating more content than your competitors, and you could completely dominate
07:41your industry on TikTok and other social media platforms. Also, when you look at the sidebar,
07:46you'll see related searches people are making. You can use these suggestions and start making
07:50content on these topics as well. And that's how to build a content strategy for your local service
07:55business. Thank you for watching until the end. I hope you got a lot out of the video. So our goal
07:59here is to help you generate the best quality leads so you can fill out your diary with more
08:03customers and grow your business. And that's it for me. And by the way, if lead generation is a
08:08problem for you right now, then there's a link in the description that will help you solve that
08:11problem in under three minutes. I want to say a big thank you again for watching this video.
