00:08them on the first page. This tool is called Search Atlas, and it's packed with features

00:18I'm going to walk you through how we use it in the agency to drive more traffic and

00:48First, we're going to use this tool to look at keyword gap analysis. Let's say for the purpose
00:52of this video, we're trying to rank this website. Now, this isn't one of our clients,
00:56but they're clearly trying to rank for the keyword plumbers in London. When we run this
01:00website through fat rank, we see that they're ranking way down on the fourth page of Google,
01:05somewhere around position 42, so not great. Now, there could be a lot of reasons why this
01:10site isn't ranking well, but using a keyword gap analysis, we can find keyword opportunities for
01:14the website to rank. First, put the website's link into the keyword gap analysis tool over here.
01:19Then, we'll set the country to the United Kingdom, since that's where they're targeting.
01:23Next, we'll head over to Google and search for plumbers in London. We'll then open the top three
01:28ranking websites in the organic listings and paste their URLs into the keyword gap analysis tool,
01:33just like this. Once we've got those in place, we'll analyze the keywords they're ranking for
01:37compared to our primary website. This will show us what keywords we might be missing out on or
01:41could optimize better. Just make sure to adjust the country setting to match your target audience,
01:46whether it's the UK or another country. As you can see, plumbing London gets around 5,400 searches
01:52a month, but our site isn't ranking high enough for it. You can also see the positions our
01:56competitors are ranking for this same keyword. This tool gives you tons of ideas for keywords
02:01you could target, like plumbers needed London, cheap plumbers near me, or plumbers near me 24-7.
02:06You can either filter down to just the London-specific keywords. If you search for London
02:11on this page, you'll find about 45 different London-related keyword opportunities. You can
02:16also export all this data into a spreadsheet to keep track of your keyword research. You can also
02:20see keywords that are in common between your site and competitors, as well as those keyword
02:24opportunities that you aren't ranking for. You can use these keywords in ad campaigns or directly
02:29on your website for SEO. You can also check the unique keywords, like emergency plumber East London
02:34or emergency plumbers in West London. These might be keywords that you haven't thought of targeting
02:38before. By using these keywords strategically, you can really increase your website's ranking.
02:43Another powerful feature we use with Search Atlas is the local SEO heat map. This tool is
02:48incredibly useful for tracking where your Google Maps listing ranks for specific keywords across
02:53different areas. For instance, we're targeting keywords like garden rooms or garden installers,
02:57and the heat map shows our position across various locations. In this case, we're ranking between one
03:02and two for most of these keywords, which is great. You can add as many keywords as you want
03:07to track your rankings. If you want to refine the heat map, you can adjust the layers from here.
03:11This means you can focus on more condensed areas or expand your coverage to a larger radius,
03:16such as a whole county or even multiple counties. Once you update the heat map,
03:20it shows your rankings across the selected areas. If you notice your positions dropping in certain
03:24areas, it's a clear sign that you need to go back into your Google Maps listing and start
03:28optimizing your listings. The next important aspect of improving your site's ranking is
03:32analyzing your backlinks. If your website isn't performing as well as you'd like,
03:36one reason might be that you don't have as many or as high quality backlinks as your competitors.
03:41We can use Search Atlas for backlink gap analysis as well. First, we put in the URLs of the three
03:46competitors who are ranking well on Google for similar keywords, then we'll put our website URL
03:50over here. Now, this tool will help identify domains that link to your competitors, but not
03:55to your site. You'll see a list of these domains along with the domain authority, which gives you
03:59an idea of their overall credibility. You can also click on these links to see where they're coming
04:04from. So you can see links from Twitter, BBC, Medium, and The Telegraph. These are valuable
04:10backlink opportunities that you can use for your website. This insight can guide your link building
04:14strategy, helping you secure valuable backlinks and improve your site's authority and rankings.
04:19You can download the list of these backlinks to a spreadsheet and sift through them to identify
04:23which ones are worth your time. This makes it easy for you to focus on building high quality links.
04:28You can either do this yourself or hand it over to a content writer and ask them to get you
04:32featured on as many of these sites as possible. These backlinks are crucial for improving your
04:36site's authority and search rankings, so it's key to target the best opportunities. So if you notice
04:41gaps in your backlink profile compared to your competitors, it's time to ramp up your link
04:45building efforts and get high quality links from authoritative sources. And if you want to check
