Re-freshers guide for Liverpool students

00:00Whether you are new to the city or just need a refresher Liverpool is packed

00:05full of things to do and see which won't break the bank. Now let's talk getting

00:10around first. If you're sticking to the city centre it's incredibly walkable. If

00:13your campus is in the centre then you could cut your commute down saving time

00:18and money by living there however what you save on transport, well rents do tend

00:24to be on the steeper side and the closeness to amenities may be handy but

00:28when it's so easy to go shopping and head out on a last-minute night out you

00:32might find yourself spending a lot more than the average student budget can

00:35stretch to. Named as one of the UK's best shopping streets due to an eclectic mix

00:40of independent shops, cafes and bars, Bold Street will keep you coming back for

00:44more. As far as food goes it is a world on one road. The street is pedestrianised

00:48which means if the sun is shining then you can soak it up but if you're after

00:53an even more casual dining experience take your food to go and head to the

00:57steps of the bombed-out church. With purple flag status Liverpool's diverse

01:01nightlife has a lot to offer. Concert Square is as popular with students as it

01:05is with stag and hens from out of town so it does get pretty packed out on the

01:08weekend. Seal Street is a central hub of Liverpool nightlife. The range of venues

01:13span the entire road and the Baltic Triangle which is on the outskirts of

01:17the city centre is brimming with cool bars, street art as well as Liverpool's

01:21first food market. Whether you are a culture vulture, history buff or just

01:25want to learn more about the origins of the city, National Museums Liverpool

01:29venues are all free to enter and have sizable collections. Down at the

01:33waterfront the Museum of Liverpool explores the city's diverse history.

01:37Across town over on William Brown Street the World Museum features a planetarium

01:41as well as approximately 80,000 artifacts from across the ancient world.

01:45When the sun is shining and it sometimes does in these parts there is no shortage

01:50of green spaces in the city to enjoy it. Sefton, Croxstead, Princess and

01:54Calderstones are just a few of the equally beautiful parks that we have here.
