A look ahead at some of the events and activities coming up across Liverpool in the months ahead. From light installations and exhibitions to live entertainment and sport, there are plenty of ways to experience the city.

00:08Let's start with River of Light, which returns to the city this autumn under the theme Together.
00:13The Free Light Art Festival will once again transform parts of Liverpool into an outdoor gallery,
00:19with artworks created to bring people together through light, sound and interaction.
00:24The trail is expanding beyond the waterfront with new locations, including Williamson and St Paul's Squares.
00:30Among the installations announced so far are Pop, Dreamhead and Loop.
00:35Elsewhere in the city, visitors can discover the story of one of Liverpool's most recognisable landmarks through the Save It
00:41exhibition.
00:42The display explores the decline of Sefton Park Palm House from damage and neglect through to the community campaign that
00:50helped secure its restoration and reopening.
00:52Featuring archived material from Liverpool Record Office, including photographs, fundraising material and personal stories.
01:00The exhibition is moving from Liverpool's Central Library to Sefton Park Palm House itself this September.
01:07It also marks important milestones in the building's history, including 130 years since it first opened.
01:13Also coming up, music fans can hear from one of the 90s' most distinctive characters as Sean Ryder brings his
01:20spoken word show to the Liverpool Philharmonic.
01:22The Happy Mondays and a Black Grape frontman will share stories from his career alongside material linked to his new
01:29book, Happy Mondays and Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays.
01:33The event's part of a wider tour, exploring his experiences in music, television and popular culture.
01:39There's plenty more on offer at the Liverpool Empire, where Mean Girls Live arrives as part of its UK tour.
01:45Based on the popular story, the musical follows Katie Heron as she navigates the challenges of high school life and
01:51encounters the plastics.
01:52The production features a creative team, including writer Tina Fey and composer Geoff Richmond, bringing the award-winning musical comedy
01:59to audiences in the city.
02:02Liverpool will also welcome a new sporting attraction with the launch of a Super League basketball franchise.
02:08The team's due to begin competing in the 2026-27 season, with the M&S Bank Arena on the waterfront
02:14set to become its home venue.
02:15The new club's intended to create a long-term sporting presence in the city, alongside opportunities linked to basketball participation,
02:23community activity and live events.
02:26Across the coming months, these events offer different ways to experience Liverpool, from large-scale outdoor art and live performance
