00:00Saturday afternoon into the evening hours at Arrowhead. A

00:07rematch of the season opener in the regular season in 2023 at

00:11the home of the two-time reigning Super Bowl champion

00:15Kansas City Chiefs who did play their starters for a good

00:18majority of the opening half against the Detroit Lions. No

00:21starters on the other side for Detroit and still the Lions come

00:26away with a one point victory 2423. They also won by a single

00:31point in the season opener to start the 2023 campaign. They

00:35went outright as a nine and a half point underdog. Andy Reed

00:40has always been in favor of playing his starters in the

00:44preseason. That's what made this line nearly double digits, but

00:47it does go over 39 and a half. There's a lot we can get into

00:52here in just a moment, but the question has to be asked. Where

00:55were you when Patrick Mahomes went behind his back in an NFL

01:00preseason game rolling out to his right tosses it behind his

01:04back to his tight end Travis Kelsey, depending on who you

01:08ask Mahomes said on the broadcast was not a planned

01:11play. Kelsey said what not a real. Yeah, it was a real play.

01:15I know exactly what was going to happen, although he tried to

01:19go with a little bit of a comic fib as well. Regardless a cool

01:23moment in preseason despite KC falling by a point at home.

01:27Yeah, no doubt that wasn't off the script. Of course it was

01:29going to be on the script on that play there, but again just

01:32to execute that in real time was pretty impressive to watch

01:34and it did work and having said that how about Detroit's

01:37passing game Sudfeld and Hooker 26 and 42 in that game for

01:41342 yards passing. It's wild that that big of an upset would

01:44take place, but again, it's preseason. Not really game

01:47planning overall, but having said that let's look at the

01:49Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes in midseason form. He's

01:52going to be fantastic. We know that he's great every single

01:54year, but you know what I really like from this savior

01:56worthy. You got the rushing yardage one for 11, which means

01:59they're going to be willing to use him almost in a Debo Samuel

02:02type role and give him the football a couple times a game.

02:04Maybe on those reverses number two him looking so fluid out

02:08there getting open deep. I was watching this going. Oh my

02:11goodness like Henderson is going to be out for a little

02:13bit or a Marquis Brown. I should say it's going to be out

02:15here for a little bit of time. If we're if we're lining up

02:17that team, Rishi Rice even look good early. This is where we

02:20go back to last year with the Kansas City Chiefs and said

02:22boy if they just had more of a wide receiver concept as

02:25opposed to a rookie in Rishi Rice. Now Rice enters his

02:28second year. I don't know if there's going to be suspensions

02:30on the horizon who knows, but if they have those three wide

02:32receivers healthy for the majority of the season, that's

02:35going to be a fun office for Kansas City, but my total

02:37takeaway is Xavier worthy. Looks like he could be a really

02:41good player in this offense.
