Drenching thunderstorms in store for areas still waterlogged from Debby

Parts of the Carolinas could still experience river flooding this week as thunderstorms continue soaking areas hit hard by Debby.

00:00Where we had that heavy rain just last week from Debbie were tracking

00:05thunderstorms in and around those areas now. Areas like Wilmington, North

00:09Carolina seeing some strong storms and we've even had some flash flooding

00:12issues across parts of North Carolina especially across extreme southeastern

00:18North Carolina. Though down along the coast we're still concerned about spotty

00:22thunderstorms here over the next few days and even further south it's still

00:26hot. We were just talking about areas like Dallas, Houston. It's actually where

00:32the real field temperatures where we don't have the storms are going to be

00:35soaring past 100 degrees upwards to 115 where you see that darkest red that does

00:42that includes Houston and New Orleans and also Central Florida, Orlando, the

00:47Peninsula. It's going to be hot even across the Panhandle and anywhere there

00:51along that I-10 corridor you can say it's going to be a little gross outside

00:55you're going to be sweating it out. Though further north unfortunately we're

00:58not quite done with the thunderstorm threat across these areas that were just

01:02hounded there by Debbie with some of these slow-moving thunderstorms and some

01:07of them even starting to gel together or maybe live a little too long and

01:12unfortunately the longer they are and if they pop up over an already pretty

01:17roughed up area when it comes to the flooding and the grounds already so

01:21saturated we're tracking some slowdowns here when it comes to Debbie recovery

01:26efforts potentially and also on top of the rain we're also tracking some gusty

01:30winds as well. We're watching some rivers a lot of rivers here in that major flood

01:37stage. This is for Edisto River and unfortunately we are continuing to

01:42attract that major flood stage until the end of the week where we do start to

01:48come down but it's not a fast drop it's a steady drop so we're still concerned

01:52about flooding here over the next few days. You can see why where a lot of the

01:56thunderstorms do choose to fire off that is right around that zone where we have

02:00that solid out frontal boundary though as we head into the middle half of the

02:04week you'll start to see some of those storms still erupting there during the

02:08peak afternoon though something we have to keep a close eye out on as we head

02:11into the later half of the week is Ernesto.
