Here's today's bulletin, as Derbyshire County Council announces it is to remove thousands of 'love locks' so it can repair a bridge in Bakewell - and a police appeal after a teen is bitten in the face by a dog.

00:03Bakewell's famous Love Locks Weir footbridge will undergo a major maintenance and repair

00:08program at the end of the summer, so Derbyshire County Council is now inviting couples to

00:13collect any sentimental mementos before they are forcibly removed from the bridge.

00:18Work will begin on September 16th and will be the first major repair program since the

00:23bridge was installed in the late 1990s, which should extend its life for a further 25 years.

00:30But to access the structure, workers will first have to remove around 5,500 padlocks

00:35left there since 2011 as symbols by loved-up couples and those mourning losses, like a

00:41mini version of the tradition for visitors to the Pont des Arts in Paris.

00:46Councillor Charlotte Cupid, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport said,

00:49We understand the significance this bridge has developed for many people as a place to

00:54attach a lock, to remember loved ones or to celebrate special anniversaries.

00:58However, as we have noticed over the last few years, the bridge requires repairs which

01:03include taking significant areas of rust as well as repairing the pedestrian walkway which

01:08is worn through in a number of places.

01:12Derbyshire Police have this week issued an appeal for information after a husky-type

01:16dob bit a teenager in the face at a Derbyshire pub.

01:20The incident happened at the Headstocks pub in Pinkston on July 14th between 10.30pm and

01:2510.45pm.

01:28Police reported that it involved a husky-type dob which caused an injury.

01:32Now officers have launched an appeal to anyone who has any information about the incident

01:36to come forward and contact officers by calling the Police Non-Emergency Number 101.
