00:15ready for Paris and the Olympics starting in just a few weeks.
00:20JY, let's look at the odds and it should be no surprise with
00:23the roster of the names that I just listed and it continues to
00:26go from there. Steph Curry, Anthony Edwards, Kawhi Leonard,
00:29the list goes on and on that the Americans are nearly a
00:33minus 400, a $4 odds on favorite at minus 390. Is the
00:39price fair? Should Team USA run away to an Olympic gold medal?
00:45Ben, yes, they should, but here's the caveat that people
00:49need to understand more than anything. Once you get to the
00:52medal round, all it takes is 48 or 40 bad minutes of basketball
00:57and you go home. As well, they are an overwhelming favorite
01:01and I gotta be honest with you. I still have two concerns with
01:05this team. Three concerns. One, they're a little bit older. If
01:09a team wants to get up and down with them, let's say Canada,
01:12can they keep pace with a team that could be younger and more
01:15athletic? Two, rebounding. We're going to talk about
01:18eventually if they play France. I mean, I watch over the
01:21weekend what Wemby's doing is like, it's extremely scary to
01:25watch as an American because he could carry the team to go
01:27medal, but you're going 7471 high low like how do you defend
01:32that? That's not even possible. So there's that and then
01:35there's perimeter shooting. You've lined up. Yes, we have
01:38one of the greatest shooters of all time and Steph Curry. Where
01:43are the other guys that are marksmen? Not down three-point
01:48shooters. Devin Booker, pull-up guy. Durant, pull-up guy.
01:53Ant, pull-up guy, right? LeBron, not really. Kawhi,
01:57pull-up guy. They could shoot it, but that's not what they're
02:01known for. If they struggle from three and the team gets hot,
02:04then they can get picked off. Should they win it? Yes. Should
02:09they be the favorite? Yes. Can they get picked off? Still,
02:12absolutely.
