Independent pubs vs chain pubs

Are chain pubs causing independent pubs to struggle? Which do you prefer, and when was the last time you went to a pub?

00:00I love a pub. I always go to as many pubs as I can when I'm in the UK.

00:05I always find that the little tiny independent sort of more community pubs

00:09are very cosy and I like the history and the stories behind them and I like that

00:15they have a lot more locally made beers.

00:18I like chains, I've gone to Wetherspoons, they're nice and cheap, but then again independent pubs are good too.

00:24I mean like I occasionally do Up and Max and it's usually independent pubs where you do those.

00:29So yeah there's pros and cons with both of them I guess.

00:32My favourite pub doesn't serve food so maybe if they got some advice,

00:37there could be a little change like handing food out, serving more drinks and being kind.

00:46I do drink at locals around Bramley where I go.

00:49It's like hope really, I mean we've got a choice, if you want to go out for a cheap night out,

00:53you can pick up big chains, but yeah it's personal really, like I say I use both.
