Trinidad and Tobago's Badminton players are aiming to make history as they get set to compete at the Pan American Junior Championships. They will be aiming to bring back precious metal in July. The team is currently training for the tournament at the National Racquet Center in Tacarigua. Serjio Du Four met with the team and has this report.

00:06In the coming months, they will be taking part in the Pan American Junior Championships
00:10in July, Caribbean Championships in August and World Junior Championships in September.
00:16Technical Director of the Badminton Association Anil Seepol said he is satisfied with preparations
00:22thus far.
00:23Preparations are coming along really, really fine.
00:26We have access to, as you can see, we have access to four courts at the Racket Center.
00:33We have access to the facilities from Monday to Sunday.
00:38He indicated they've also selected the teams.
00:4030 boys and 30 girls will represent the national team in several age categories.
00:46The selection committee has met and we have selected a squad and the composition of the
00:54squad includes all the categories.
00:57We have players in the under 11 category, we have players in the under 13 category,
01:04the under 15 category, as well as the under 17 and the under 19 categories.
01:09As it pertains to the Pan American Junior Championships, he says they are aiming to
01:13improve their medal haul and take part in the team event for the first time.
01:18Another one of our major goals that we are hoping for, we are hoping to actually medal
01:24at the Pan American Junior Championships.
01:28At the Pan American Junior Championships, in the past, in the history of badminton, we
01:32have not had that much success with regards to medals.
01:37Seepol believes that the opportunity to partake in these tournaments will provide athletes
01:42with international exposure.
01:44Under-19 player Vishal Ramsubag, who won the Caribbean Championships, is one of the favourites
01:49to win.
01:50Now, all they need to do is train to achieve their objectives.
