Thunderstorms in store for the Midwest

AccuWeather's Bree Guy breaks down the forecast for stormy weather in the central U.S. this Wednesday and Thursday.

00:00And we have some storms on the map for tomorrow in the Midwest. Yeah, not to say it the obvious,

00:04but not good, Jeff, for central and southern Florida. That's way too much water in such a

00:09short amount of time. Please stay weather aware as we are tracking some very, very

00:15dangerous flooding conditions there across the Sunshine State. Now let's take you north and west

00:20across the north central. We are tracking that threat for severe weather even as we head into

00:25tomorrow. This is your outlook Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday night. Some of these storms,

00:30while not necessarily widespread, could pack a little bit of a punch here up and down I-35

00:36corridor. That includes Minneapolis, La Crosse, even back towards Sioux Falls, just east of the

00:43city. Hail, downpours, isolated tornadoes, everything's on the table here. And while

00:48we're talking about threats, what do the colors mean? Some in the yellow, and that means more

00:55isolated in nature when it comes to more coverage of our severe weather threat. Then when we get

01:00into the orange, we're talking about a little bit more coverage in terms of where those severe

01:07storms do pop up. Now some of those storms could even be a little bit stronger, but you could see

01:11a strong storm anywhere that is shaded. So please be on the lookout anywhere from Duluth all the way

01:17down through the midwest in the mid-mississippi valley. Thursday, while we aren't quite done with

01:22the action, we do have the warmth building in from the west, but also thunderstorms set to fire off

01:28there as we head throughout Thursday. I'm going to jump ahead now to Thursday morning. Here comes

01:32that line, and it is going to slink south as we head throughout our Thursday. Quick storms, Green

01:39Bay, Minneapolis, it's going to shift past Chicago. That could bring some severe weather, but look at

01:44this line even by Thursday night. This is what concerns me because it's happening so late, and we

01:49are concerned about that threat for hail and downpour. So please have a way to receive those

01:54severe weather alerts even at night. Turn those alerts on high so that you can hear them through

02:00AccuLocal StormX, 75 miles per hour. All right, let's take you live to Lakeway, Texas. It is time

02:08for the big three, where we look at the other big weather stories we are following for today,

02:13and well, number one on that list is the south central, Lakeway, Texas. It looks like a

02:19getaway, an oasis. An oasis out there. Yeah, lake level is a little higher than they were back when

02:24we saw this last summer, and I think I see a few little drops, maybe. Something's dropping.

02:30That could be, who knows what, falling off the top of the camera lens, but I think we've had

02:34some recent downpours near this area. At least they're seeing some sunshine. I had to confirm

02:39that there. It is reflecting off the water. Oh yeah, no, that's certainly sun. Yeah,

02:42at least they're seeing some sun. Yeah. Why, you could see some spotty storms and even

02:46some steamy weather here on the way. Yeah, nice place to be there with the temperatures on the

02:50rise. That lake is looking pretty appealing. We have an area here, especially between around Waco

02:55and Houston, where there's a cluster of thunderstorms on the move right now, Brie.

02:59Wow, check out that cloud. Yeah, impressive. Jeff, look at that. High temperatures, though,

03:04are continuing to rise. We are on the lookout, though, for more storms, and well, things get

03:08steamy. Dallas, you're at 92 by Thursday, sitting in the triple digits there further

03:13back west, but tracking downpour potential, Jeff. Yeah, we'll see a nice shelf cloud there.

03:18This becomes kind of tied into the tropics, ultimately, as an area of low pressure in

03:23the southwestern Gulf will be sliding north, sending moisture our way next week. That's

03:28certainly going to cause some travel delays, and we have to also keep a close eye on those

03:32river and stream levels, as those areas have already been hard hit. That's very, very true.
