Severe weather is on the move once again across the central U.S.
Transcript
00:00Let's go a little further east now, where storms returned yesterday.
00:03We're going west, actually, to the north central, where we saw rain, wind, and hail.
00:10I wouldn't have even noticed. I was just absentmindedly listening. I wouldn't have even caught it out.
00:14Well, I kind of, as I was like, I was like, wait, are we going east?
00:17I don't know that we're going east, but we are going to talk international in a minute.
00:20So I was like, oh, are we going to the international forecast?
00:22We're going to the far east in a little bit.
00:24Here, you can see the Sedgwick County, this is home to Wichita.
00:27A lot of hail out there, heavy rain as well.
00:29Hey, we're going to see some more storms this evening, but a little farther north and west.
00:33We've got Wichita down I-35, kind of near the Big Bend there, a little farther south.
00:37But to the northwest of there, the Sandhills of Nebraska, the Black Hills of western South Dakota, and northwestern Kansas.
00:43You're in on it tonight with some thunderstorms, flash flooding, and again, damaging wind and hail.
00:49There are going to be concerns out there in this area. Look out in Scotts Bluff.
00:52We can watch these storms, and some of these spotty, intense thunderstorms can be good hail producers.
00:57And then later this evening, you can see it's not going to be terribly widespread.
01:01But in that yellow zone on that previous map, that's where some of those storms are going to be roaming.
01:06They'll become more widespread out into western Nebraska late Friday.
01:09And then we get into a more active time for the upper Midwest on Saturday, at least early in the
01:13day, as a cluster of showers and storms rolls through.
01:15These make a push into Chicago Saturday evening, scattered showers there.
01:20And then on Sunday, we get a little more active in this corridor here, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and to some
01:26extent north of I-70 there in areas like Illinois.
01:28Now, most of Friday is going to be just like a five-star day for Green Bay and Chicago and
01:33Detroit, Indianapolis, looking great there.
01:35We can use some of these opportunities to dry out there in Indiana after the drenching, drenching weather of recent
01:41weeks.
01:42But we'll be stormy in the north part of the plains here into the Dakotas, and you can see some
01:46pretty good heat out there.
01:4797 in Scotts Bluff, Goodland, Kansas, 95, stormy into Watertown.
01:51Delightful, though, Chicago and Detroit, 80 and 81. Enjoy that.
01:55And then more storms then Friday evening from Billings all the way to Watertown, Sioux Falls, Fargo, Aberdeen Piers, South
02:01Dakota.
02:01We'll be watching more storms push east then into Saturday, as we mentioned there.
02:05But these storms are going to be on the move with some severe weather back to the west.
02:09Wyoming to North Dakota then on Saturday evening and night.
