00:02 - Yeah, let's take a look at those other entities here.
00:05 NBC preparing a bid for NBA rights worth
00:07 two and a half billion dollars annually
00:10 in an attempt to squeeze out Turner Sports.
00:13 What are we looking at for the next wave of talent
00:16 that's gonna be shown on different networks here, Rick?
00:18 - Well, the interesting thing about that is,
00:20 I don't know if you guys remember, I do,
00:22 but I'm dating myself again.
00:23 You remember the old Inside the NFL
00:25 with my friend Nick Bonacani and Lennon Dawson
00:29 and all of those folks.
00:31 And there was a time when those guys transcended that brand.
00:36 Then it became the brand and then it moved around
00:38 and the hosts were interchangeable.
00:40 I think it's the same kind of thing this time,
00:42 except the difference is, you know,
00:44 how do you watch an Inside the NBA in a new entity
00:48 if they go somewhere else without Ernie Johnson
00:50 and certainly without Barkley and without Jack?
00:54 That becomes the show.
00:56 Now, I think they have in their respective contracts
00:59 that they can move around depending on the rights.
01:01 I would assume that's true.
01:03 That's what the top agencies do
01:05 relative to these superstar talents.
01:08 So who knows what's gonna happen with the ongoing talent?
01:11 I think if NBC does this,
01:14 I think it's a great opportunity for them
01:16 to cultivate and develop some fresh faces
01:19 in addition to moving some old reliables in.
