00:00 Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 Well, as we have a look at the long Easter weekend for many of us, it's going to be a
00:08 mixture of sunny spells but also the risk of some further rain at times. It's all because
00:13 we're going to see further areas of low pressure dominating the UK. But most of the time, we'll
00:18 see winds coming up from the south, so it should feel a little bit less cold than it
00:22 has been of late.
00:24 So a little bit more detail for Good Friday. Really, it's going to be a mixture of sunny
00:28 spells and a scattering of showers. Some of these showers could potentially be on the
00:32 heavy side, could hear the odd rumble of thunder. I think the best of the driest weather probably
00:38 up across the far north of Scotland. But in the sunshine, temperatures will reach the
00:42 low teens across the south, could see highs reaching around 13 or 14 degrees.
00:48 Into this evening, showers becoming increasingly restricted to more western and northern parts
00:53 of the country. Think central and eastern areas turning largely dry and clear. Could
00:57 just see a few misty patches form come dawn and also a touch of ground frost. Temperatures
01:02 falling down to about 3 to 4 degrees.
01:05 So a chilly start for some of us on Saturday, but there will be some sunshine from the word
01:09 go. Just keeping an eye on this area of cloud and rain, may well just fringe into the far
01:14 east of East Anglia. But for many, it's going to be a bright day. I think the showers mainly
01:19 focused across Scotland and Northern Ireland. A good deal of England and Wales actually
01:23 probably escaping with a relatively dry day. And in the sunshine, feeling pleasant enough.
01:28 I think temperatures across the south reaching around 14 or 15 degrees, up to about 10 to
01:33 12 across the north.
01:36 Then moving on into Easter Day, don't forget that the clocks do change. 1am becomes 2am
01:42 on Sunday morning. And then behind that, really, it's going to be a day of sunny spells and
01:46 a scattering of showers. But you can find out more about that on our social media channels.
01:51 But for now, take care and I'll see you again soon.
