00:04 then three other vehicles slammed into each other on Papri Road in Barakpur
00:09 this morning. TV6 News was told that one truck driver sustained a broken leg but
00:14 everyone else in the other vehicles including a woman and her two children
00:18 escaped with no injuries or minor wounds and were taken to hospital. One of the
00:24 drivers involved in the incident spoke off-camera about what he observed
00:28 around 7.30 a.m.
00:31 So this truck coming, two ten wheelers, one in front, one behind. The one in behind is this one here.
00:39 So I'm coming down, I saw like no windshield and I saw the driver moving his steering wheel, you know, uncontrolled.
00:48 So everybody started pulling to the side of the road but unfortunately he still hit me, my vehicle was in front
00:54 and after he hit me, he hit these two vehicles and pushed them all the way here.
00:57 His head was burst and the woman who was driving in that vehicle, she had a cut on her hand and the children were in the back seat.

01:06 These two vehicles were pushed more than 100 feet into a drain where they all came to a stop.
01:14 Residents of the area who came out at the site complained about the section of roadway where the trucks first collided.
01:20 They say the road is called Trinidad Hill. It's split in two levels and has been in this condition for years.
01:27 They lament that despite many reports, no real rehabilitation to solve the issue has been undertaken.
01:34 If you have a pickup, you can go on the site. If you're going up the hill and when you're coming down, well, you have to take the jam in the barge.

01:45 It's real bad. It's real, real bad. If you don't have a pickup, you have to take your time and lose gravel.
