00:00 Meanwhile, the chairman of the Tobago arm of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of
00:04 Industry and Commerce Curtis Williams tells TV6 that he too has been assured
00:09 by Chief Secretary Folly Augustine that some contractors would be paid some of
00:14 the money the THA owes them. Mr. Williams says some contractors have been in tears.
00:22 I was at the bank recently and I saw some of the contractors, some who have tears, who
00:25 are having health issues, high blood pressure. This is a hard time for these
00:29 contractors in Tobago and that's why we urge the chief secretary to do whatever
00:33 he can do to make some sort of payments to these folks. He says pre-action
00:39 protocol letters have been served to some contractors. Now what happens is
00:44 that these contractors employ subcontractors and take supplies from
00:48 hardwares and other entities and hence the reason why all these letters kept
00:53 floating around all these legal letters. So it's important that the chief sec
00:57 and his team really meet their commitment and make the payment accordingly.
01:02 Sixty percent of these contractors are members of the chamber the other 40
01:05 percent are the normal Tobago Union's contractors and we're loving for all
01:10 Tobago because we are here for everyone. We will hope that they become members of
01:14 the chamber but again it's all about Tobago and the Tobago business fields.
