00:00 Chairman of the Northwest Regional Health Authority Lisa Agard says apart
00:04 from saving on patient wait time through the synchronization of their medical
00:08 records the e-health platform being used by the NWRHA has been saving on costs
00:15 associated with expired medication. The plan is to expand it at the Port of
00:20 Spain General Hospital this year as revealed by Agard during an NWRHA board
00:26 meeting on Tuesday. Those savings amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars. What
00:34 does the future of digitalization look like for the authority? An expansion of
00:40 the e-health platform in fiscal year 2024 to support the maternity department
00:45 at Port of Spain General Hospital, the introduction of a module dedicated to
00:51 patient bed management, the expansion of capabilities for the e-health mobile
00:56 application and lastly increased interoperability between the e-health
01:02 platform and existing health information systems such as
01:08 the lab information system and health databases. But it is also being
01:15 considered for even more expansion past that period as the entity eagerly
01:20 awaits the completion of construction works at the hospital. When the central
01:26 block becomes available in 2025, right Dr. Barrow? We envisage that we envisage
01:40 the implementation of a comprehensive e-health platform that integrates with
01:48 all vital monitoring systems, surgery, inpatient care, all practices at the Port
01:56 of Spain General Hospital, laboratory and radiology. If that happens, Agard said it
02:03 would be the only regional health authority in the country with an e-platform
02:08 at that level of comprehensiveness. So far the platform has served over 118,000
02:14 people in terms of patient registrations and 397,000 prescriptions. It is being
02:22 used by 1,643 internal users, specifically health workers, who provide
02:29 services to patients. Noteworthy is the fact that the system presently has
02:34 patient registration data for approximately 328,000 patients as health
02:41 legacy data was transferred to the e-health platform. As of January 2024,
02:48 the e-health mobile app, and I urge you to download the application, it has over
02:56 4,600 subscriptions. Alicia Boucher, TV6 News.
