00:00During the March 27th and 28th period, power cables were maliciously cut and stolen from the Arnorsville Well No. 4,
00:09Barcalet Well No. 3, Claude Noel Highway Wells, Bloody Bay Water Tank, Bloody Bay Well No. 1.
00:16Chief Secretary Farley-Augustin said, quote, This is not petty theft. This is not mischief. This is a direct and
00:24deliberate attack on essential public infrastructure. It is an act that borders on domestic terrorism.
00:32The attacks have resulted in a significant production loss of approximately 2.1 million gallons of water per day. As
00:40a result, communities across Tobago are now facing disruptions to their water supply.
00:46Mr. Augustin said, The greatest impact at this time is being felt in the Corland Supply Zone, with Cronk Point
00:55and surrounding areas heavily affected.
00:59Additionally, the entire corridor from Bloody Bay to Castara, which depends exclusively on the Bloody Bay Well and treatment plant,
01:08will experience disruption until the situation is resolved.
01:12Communities currently affected include Arnorsville Well No. 4, Plymouth, Liketo, Culloden, Seaview and Cronk Point via the Corland Water Treatment

01:39The matter was reported to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and investigations are underway.
01:45The chief secretary said he has instructed that this matter be treated with the highest level of urgency and those
01:53responsible must be found and brought before the law.
01:57Augustin said, quote, Anyone found tampering with vandalizing or stealing from public utilities is not only committing a serious criminal
02:07offense, but is endangering the health, safety and economic stability of our people.
02:12We will pursue the strongest possible penalties under the law, end quote.
02:18Emergency measures are being put in place to secure the island's remaining water infrastructure.
02:24Additional protective arrangements are being coordinated to prevent further incidents.
02:31Augustin said the THA is working closely with the Water and Sewerage Authority to restore operations in the shortest possible
02:38time.
02:39He stated that the people of Tobago must understand the gravity of what has occurred, pointing out that these actions
02:47threaten not only households, but hospitals, schools, businesses and the tourism sector, declaring it an attack on the lifeblood of
02:58the island.
02:59Mr. Augustin urged all citizens to remain vigilant and say something if they see something.
