00:00 The Northwest Regional Health Authority says in 2023 it was able to satisfy the health screening
00:05 requests of 97% of people and in terms of health promotions 92% of what was planned was executed.
00:13 Chairman Lisa Agard also provided the stats for HIV/AIDS testing for the same period.
00:18 6,000 persons were tested by the authority for HIV/AIDS over the period with three dedicated
00:27 HIV testing campaigns being executed during that time. A total of 78 educational sessions
00:35 on HIV/AIDS and STIs were done for the period with an estimated 1,842 persons being reached.
00:45 128 people have tested positive according to the NWRHA. Agard commends the NWRHA's health
00:53 promotions team for this and other initiatives such as health fairs and outreach programs
00:59 including those on non-communicable diseases. As she said a lot of effort has been expended.
01:05 And it really redounds to the benefit of the communities in which we live
01:10 and we expect to see as a result of that outreach significant reductions in non-communicable diseases.
