00:00 Two Malaysians who pleaded guilty last week to participating in the 2002 Bali bombings
00:08 have apologized in court for their actions.
00:11 Farik Amin and Nazir Laib assured the US military court in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba that they are
00:17 reformed men following 20 years of solitary confinement.
00:21 Nazir's lawyer, Brian Buford, said the duo now realized what they did 22 years ago was
00:28 wrong and have taken responsibility for their actions.
00:33 Eleven family members of the victims were present at the proceedings.
00:38 Taking the stand, Farik apologized to the families of all 202 people killed in the bombing.
00:45 He said he was merely seeking to defend his faith and is no longer the angry young man
00:50 he once was.
00:52 He also said he has learned from his mistakes but will have to live with his actions forever.
00:58 Nazir said he was young, immature and stubborn at the time of the attacks.
01:03 He said he only began to understand the situation fully with age and maturity.
01:09 The duo are facing a sentence of between 20 and 25 years following a pretrial agreement
01:14 reached with prosecutors.
