00:00PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang has asserted that the party unequivocally
00:06rejects any form of collaboration with Pakatan Harapan.
00:10In his policy speech at the 70th PAS Muktamar in Timurloh, Hadi affirmed that the Islamic
00:15Party is resolutely committed to remaining in Perikatan Nasional.
00:19Hadi also emphasized PAS' commitment to unity among Muslims and non-extremist
00:24non-Muslims who accept Islam as a solution and respect Islamic leadership.
00:30PAS had previously partnered with DAP and PKR in the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat Coalition
00:35in the 2013 general election before the coalition broke up a few months after the
00:39death of its former spiritual leader, Nik Aziz Nikmat, in February 2015.
00:45He later added that PAS is still courting UMNO to join Muafakat Nasional
00:49as long as Ahmad Zahid Hamadi is not involved in any way.
00:53Hadi said the party has had talks with some UMNO leaders,
00:56excluding the UMNO president, on plans to revive the True Amen.
01:00UMNO and PAS formed Amen in 2019 as an electoral pact with the main aim of uniting the Malay-Muslim
01:06vote, but it collapsed after PAS chose to work with Persatu, which UMNO viewed as a betrayal.
