00:00Members of the National Assembly unanimously rejected the draft Memorandum of Understanding from the government

00:08in relation to the appointment of the Speaker of the National Assembly, said Deputy Speaker Hamzah Zainuddin.

00:14He, as well as Setia Uzo Agom PN, gave four reasons for the rejection,

00:19one of which was the claim against the United Nations,

00:22on several grounds of being concerned about infringing on the rights of Malay and Putra people.

00:29It was said that the draft also included matters related to the freedom of speech of MPs

00:35while they have the right and immunity for the people according to Article 347 of the Parliamentary Assembly Act 1952.

00:45He also said that the PN wants to remind the government of the agreemented United Nations Manifesto

00:51and to develop the election area equally to all MPs without counting the parties.

00:58On 9 July, Deputy Speaker Anwar Ibrahim said,

01:01the issue of the right to vote for MPs should not be a complicated issue to be resolved.

01:08Deputy Speaker PN Attakiuddin Hassan on 20 August tried to accept the MOU draft.
