00:07This is what political analyst Azmi Hassan told FMT, adding that PN would not simply

00:11offer Mukhris a leadership post within the coalition.

00:15Azmi was asked if Mukhris should set his sights on PN after two UMNO leaders insisted that

00:20the party would not allow him to rejoin the party.

00:23Mukhris was dismissed from UMNO in 2016 after he breached party discipline by sharing the

00:28stage with opposition leaders.

00:30Azmi said Mukhris should instead shed the perception that his father Dr Mahathir Mohamad

00:35was the main obstacle preventing Perjuang from garnering support.

00:39Last Saturday, Mukhris said he would not return to UMNO even if Ahmad Zayed Hamidi no longer

00:44helmed the party.

00:46In response, UMNO Supreme Council Member Puat Zarkashi said Mukhris was actually too embarrassed

00:51to return to UMNO and that his return would not give the party any added value.
