00:03 >> John, another win yesterday, although not easy by any means for
00:06 Penny Hardaway's Memphis Tigers.
00:08 They do win by six in overtime,
00:11 booked as a double digit favorite 107-101 against UTSA.
00:16 A high scoring affair in an extra session,
00:19 Memphis though off to a very strong start this season.
00:22 John, when you evaluate Penny Hardaway's crew in Tennessee,
00:26 what's the best thing the Tigers do?
00:29 >> Well, Memphis is in a situation right now where they have great experience.
00:33 They can obviously play big and small, but their ability to play small is inhibited
00:37 a little bit by losing Caleb Mills for the season due to a knee injury.
00:42 That was quietly a bit of a blow to Memphis's rotation.
00:45 But I think the biggest opponent right now, guys, for
00:48 Memphis moving forward till Selection Sunday is human nature.
00:53 Memphis and Penny Hardaway, to his credit, loaded up that non-conference schedule
00:58 with marquee opportunities.
01:00 And the Tigers answered the bell in November and December.
01:03 But now you're in a situation where unless you play Florida Atlantic in
01:07 American Conference play, every other game that you play
01:11 won't just not really equal a good win, but if you fall short,
01:15 it will equal a bad loss.
01:17 So this is similar to the dynamic that John Calipari had
01:20 when he was the head coach at Memphis, when he had those great teams,
01:23 obviously, with Derrick Rose and Tyreek Evans and all those guys.
