00:00You know, the judges kind of got it right, 29-28, 29-28, but also, I don't know, like how
00:09much of a shock did Curtis Blades have when basically they made a Josh Hogan Whitehouse fight middle of the
00:17fight that was going on, but that's another story.
00:21But wild fight, great stuff, and then one of the stranger sequences, Tom, in a main event, I couldn't help
00:30but think of Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, right?
00:34There's going to be, you know, once in a while, every couple of years, you get these sort of freak
00:39injuries in the cage, you know, that we've seen, and it happened to Alberg,
00:46and it goes from feeling sorry for Alberg, right, like, God damn, this guy gets a title shot, he's about
00:54to lose because, you know, his calf just exploded or whatever the hell just happened,
00:58and he can barely stand, and we all saw it, yet, for whatever reason, a guy that trains in the
01:06woods and has some weird voodoo killer spirit becomes Gandhi and feels mercy for Carlos Alberg,
01:16and I saw at the time when he said, no, no, come on, come on, and, like, you know, let's
01:22hit me, hit me, I was like, what are you, like, well, you're trying to give him a fair fight,
01:28so to speak, now,
01:29because you know, like, he's wounded instead of being the smart fighter and saying, well, I didn't suffer any damage,
01:35I'm going to be the champion,
01:36and I'm just going to kick the crap out of his leg ten times in a row, and they'll probably
01:42stop the fight, or his corner's going to throw the towel in,
01:45and he ends up getting knocked out, and then said, oh, I showed mercy, I want a rematch, and Alberg
01:52kind of said, you know what, no, you know, no,
01:56you didn't show mercy, you were an idiot, and I never thought you were some psycho killer, unbelievable turn of
02:03events.
02:06Yeah, and you don't show mercy, first of all, that's, nobody does, and also, you don't get a rematch.
02:14Yeah, you don't get a rematch.
02:15Yeah, you don't get a rematch.
02:16Yeah, you don't get a rematch.
02:17Exactly.
02:18And even in a football game, like, dudes, dudes try to kill each other all the time.
02:22Well, let's say, you know, 66-0, okay, fine, we'll start running the ball, but, yeah, it's a fight.
02:26Yeah, right, right.
02:26You know when you show mercy, if you're a fighter, after the fight.
02:30After it ends, you put your arm around Alberg, you go, ah, that's a tough break, a tough break.
02:34You know, let's fight again when you get healthy, and then you raise your arms as the victor.
02:38Yeah, then you get a Boulburn rematch.
02:39Yeah.
02:40Boulburn gets the rematch.
02:41Just like Tom Aspinall.
02:42Tom Aspinall blew out his knee against Curtis Blades.
02:45That loss, Curtis Blades gave him the rematch as soon as Blades was healthy.
02:51And, yeah, I mean, it was weird.
02:52And we were on the live show, and when the first time I saw the knee buckle or whatever it
02:58was that buckled,
03:00I was like, okay, this is not the way I wanted to win this ticket, but, you know, this is
03:05going to be a winning ticket.
03:06I had Yuri inside the distance.
03:09And then he starts pointing, and he starts backing up, and then, you know, we started talking.
03:15We're like, he wants a longer fight.
03:17He doesn't want to take him out like this.
03:20And we're all just kind of blown away, and we're all just kind of holding our breath.
03:24And, you know, Alberg, he's got nothing except for just throwing a hard left hook and, you know, just defending
03:32himself.
03:32And that's all it took.
03:34That's all it took to win.
03:36So I don't see how you get a rematch off of that.
03:38You got a guy on one leg.
03:41He knocks you out.
03:43There is no rematch.
03:45It's, Alberg gets healthy.
03:47Whoever's there when he's healthy.
03:48I mean, hey, maybe it's Yuri.
03:50Maybe Yuri is the guy.
03:51Maybe he wins a couple fights in the next year as Alberg gets better.
03:56But, yeah, there's no – you can't be expecting a rematch when you lose in that fashion.
04:01It's just crazy.
04:03Yeah, and I'm with you.
04:06And, you know, you don't make Yuri – you know, it's sort of – you give him a little bit
04:11of slack in the sense that you don't have to win five fights.
04:15Like, I remember, like, Uriah Faber used to climb a ladder loose, right, and he'd be like, all right, you
04:21got to win, like, five or seven times again, and we'll see you in two years or whatnot, right?
04:25And, you know, we'll give you another shot.
04:27You know, listen, the division's not that deep.
04:30I'd say in another two fights, you got to win two fights.
04:33Yeah, it's not like you're getting a title shot next and then, all right, you win one fight.
04:38No, no, there's other guys.
04:41You had your shot.
04:42Like, it sounds crazy, but it's the fight game.
04:45And then Olberg, smartly, smartly – and I thought, too, after if I was Olberg, I would call Pereira out.
04:53You know, even if, you know, you get murdered, it's the money fight.
04:58Like, you know what I mean?
04:59Yeah.
04:59It's the money fight after.
05:00So you call Pereira out, and, you know, you are the kickboxer, right?
05:04You came in.
05:05It just sort of writes itself in a way.
05:08And, you know, we see, like, if you're confident and you call people out and you back it up.
05:14Now, did he back it up?
05:15Yeah, he just won on one leg.
05:17So, to me, the Olberg legend almost grows where it's like, damn, let's see this guy with two legs now.
05:22Well, look what he just did with one leg.
05:24Well, look what he just did with one leg.
05:24Well, let's do it again.
