A man arrested for fatally stabbing a woman with a machete in the Raja Uda area of Butterworth on Tuesday (Dec 19) is believed to have acted out of anger.

North Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Mohd Asri Shafie said according to initial investigations, the victim was a 42-year-old clothing merchant and the aunt of the suspect.

00:45 The suspect is currently undergoing treatment at Penang Hospital after nearly drowning when
00:51 he jumped off the Penang Bridge to flee the crime scene.
00:54 He was saved by fishermen and anglers who handed him over to the police.
