00:00 At least one baby from the Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza has been reunited with his mother.
00:04 Anas was one of the 31 babies evacuated from Al-Shifa on Sunday
00:08 after the hospital had been under siege by the Israeli military,
00:11 which claimed Hamas had a headquarters there.
00:13 The infants were taken to another hospital in southern Gaza,
00:16 and 28 of them were then taken to Egypt for medical care.
00:19 But Anas' mother Warda Sbeda did not want to leave behind her husband and her seven other children,
00:23 so Anas is staying here with her.
00:25 Sbeda recalled the moment she reunited with her child, saying,
00:28 "I was losing hope that I would see my baby alive.
00:31 There were babies filled with dust from the debris of the hospital.
00:34 My husband then talked with the head of department and saw the records with my baby's name on it.
00:38 I felt alive again, grateful to God that we now have our baby safely in our care."
00:42 Another baby stayed behind in Gaza because it could not be identified.
00:46 The hospital did not provide information on the third remaining child.
00:49 Anas and the others are lucky to have survived.
00:51 Conflicting numbers have been reported,
00:53 but as many as eight Al-Shifa babies died before they could be evacuated.
