00:00Was Reform UK aware of Corey Edwards' apparent use of a Nazi salute when he was picked as
00:05a candidate? And if not, what does this say about your vetting process?
00:09We have 96 candidates standing for us in the Senate elections to Cardiff on the 7th of
00:15May this year. And of the 96, one has been found to have behaved inappropriately. Finding
00:25stuff that people did years ago online, unless they declare the truth to you is difficult.
00:29And if you compare that to Plaid, who we're up against in a head-to-head, they've sacked
00:35a candidate for things that are far more serious than that. So I'd say to you, actually, if
00:41all our opponents can find is one out of 96, we're not in a bad place.
00:45You said you wouldn't suspend him. He's since stood down. But what does that say to Reform's
00:49approach to standards in public life if a Nazi salute is acceptable? What else is?
00:54Well, it's sometimes better to give people a way out. And he took the way out. You know,
01:00people can jump or they can be pushed. He decided to jump. And sometimes that's a bit more dignified
01:04because, you know, whatever sins he's committed, he's got the rest of his life to live.
