00:00 Good morning. If you're just about to step out, then be prepared for a chill.
00:04 It is much colder out there for many, certainly compared to recent mornings,
00:08 and certainly a lot colder than last weekend.
00:12 Despite the chill, there's plenty of sunshine to be had over parts of eastern England,
00:15 southern Scotland, but it's not sunny everywhere.
00:16 We've got showers feeding into parts of north and west Wales and the north coast of Northern Ireland,
00:21 the west coast of Scotland and northern Scotland, where it is very windy.
00:25 It's been a very blustery night over the Northern Isles.
00:28 Those winds only slowly easing through the day, but continuing to feed showers in across northern Scotland,
00:33 which will fall as snow over the hills.
00:36 Much of eastern England will stay dry, and although we'll see a sprinkling of showers across the south,
00:40 even here, many places will stay dry and bright through the day.
00:44 It isn't warm, however. Temperatures struggling to get into the teens across the south and many places further north,
00:50 10 or 11 at best. Add on the strength of the wind across northern Scotland and it really does feel cold.
00:58 Further south, while the wind's not as strong, but these temperatures significantly lower than average
01:03 and lower than last weekend, as I said.
01:06 If heading out this evening, then be prepared for those temperatures to be dropping pretty rapidly.
01:11 We'll keep a few showers going over northwest England, north and west Wales,
01:15 north coast of Northern Ireland through this evening.
01:17 They should start to fade here through the night.
01:19 For many, it'll be a dry night, a clear night.
01:22 And as the winds start to ease, temperatures will fall even further,
01:24 so even colder tomorrow morning compared to this morning, a greater chance of a frost over northern England,
01:30 Northern Ireland and Scotland, certainly in rural areas.
01:34 So a cold start to Sunday. Again, many will have a fine, bright start with some sunshine.
01:39 Still, the cloud feeds in over north Wales, a few showers coming in here and generally quite cloudy over northern Scotland,
01:45 with some showers here keeping going throughout the day.
01:48 But the winds here at least will be lighter than today and further south, the winds will be fairly light as well.
01:54 So in the sunny spells, temperatures may well get up to 10, 11, 12 Celsius, maybe 13.
02:00 These numbers are about 10 degrees lower than the same time last week.
02:04 So, yes, things have changed quite a bit.
02:07 But again, the winds will be lighter tomorrow compared to today.
02:10 So it will feel quite so chilly.
02:12 But again, on Sunday evening, those temperatures will be falling away pretty rapidly.
02:16 High pressure looks like dominating into next week.
02:19 For more updates on that, make sure you're following the Met Office across social media.
02:24 this weekend.
