00:04 The core objective of Responsible Tourism Mission is to enable the local community and tourism industry
00:11 through economic, social and environmental responsibility parts.
00:15 On 2007, UN, with the support of some other agencies, conducted a study at Kumarakom.
00:28 There was no linkage with tourism industry and the local community.
00:32 After implementation of Responsible Tourism Project at Kumarakom,
00:36 now it is revealed that more than 3,800 families are benefiting from tourism industry.
00:42 There is a drastic change.
00:45 We started a package in the name of Village Life Experience.
00:51 You can experience traditional livelihood activities.
00:57 If you have a homestay or already you are operating, we will promote, we will market the homestay.
01:04 So we are trying to create some linkages to the local producers, local products to the tourism industry.
01:11 Without considering the local community, the local environment and the nature, you cannot sustain.
01:25 Responsible Tourism is trying to create better place for people to visit and better place for people to live in.
